Heres a short crappy story I wrote about recontextualization this spring as an exercise, make sure you give atleast 5 seconds between each line to notice how your mind keeps getting the story recontextualized.

 

there was a guy

 

on a boat

 

going down the Yellow River

 

with no shoes on

 

a white guy

 

from Italy

 

with his girlfriend

 

who had thrown his shoes in the river

 

because she was forced to

 

at gunpoint

 

by another man in the boat

 

who was from Sicily

 

who didnt like the mans shoes

 

because they reminded him of his father

 

whom the Italian man had strangled

 

out of revenge

 

and then the credits roll

 

there is a boy

 

who is watching all of this take place

 

on a drive-in cinema

 

in Rural America

 

in the morning

 

the boy is skipping school
