Is there a program/ camp that would force me to be enlightened

It's not motivation talk. It's a reality check.

You don't have to chase anything if you don't have the desire. Plain and simple.

Trying to keep yourself accountable for what? Do you even want what you say you want? I don't think so.

If you wanted it, you'd be doing it. You wouldn't need a map or someone to hold your hand, or worse to spank your ass. If you wanted it, you'd jump right into it and then ask questions later.

Again, just go watch Netflix or something. Better than searching for scam and finding it.

@James123 if anyone has real advice im open to it

Don't go to those camps if you don't want to find there bentinho massaro or similar telling you that for enlightenment you have to suck his magic dick. all this area is plenty of scammers and psychopaths.

Its a normal process that takes place during your lifetime. Trying to find it is like trying to drink out of a full cup by filling it half full. Living your life and doing what you want is part of the process. If you skip that part of living your life how you want you are fucking the process up.

Its a realization that happens by itself.

I mean I wasn't talking about a paid program necessarily- I remember on Leo's booklist there's a guy who was a tech founder and after he made his millions went to India and started wearing a robe and chased enlightenment through more of a structure approach- tried and true. I'm more interested in something like that where there it's legit, free, and has proven to work. Can anybody think of something like that?

@machinegun some monastery as a monk. It can take 50 years.

The fast way psychedelic but by going fast your risk derailment. And if you see God you will be derailed. The slow way is safer but the psychedelic way is faster.

If you a monk your brain going like 1mph

If you a normal person your brain going like 300 mph

If you take a psychedelic and your brain is going 300 mph the risk of it not slowing down after are way higher and it can actually speed up to 600 mph.

I remember seeing The marathon monks of Mount Hiei on Leo's book list- maybe something similar to that with less Buddhist nonsense.

Do you say this because you yourself think Buddhism is nonsense or because Leo said so? I ask because what you're asking for is essentially living in a monastery . You don't have to become a monk, plenty will take lay practitioners for a few months to a year or whatever you want.

More fundamentally tho, it sounds like you're just not ready and that's fine. I wasn't ready when I was 23, but by 26 I was. Though perhaps I guess in a certain sense psychedelics were the thing that "forced me" bc after my deepest trip I just started meditating every day , I couldn't not do it, and I've been riding that wave since.

I don't know about a "camp" per se but it does make me think of meditation retreats. I had some profound mystical experiences on a multi day meditation retreat at the Insight Meditation Society in Massachusetts. I did a 3 day retreat. This is by no means the only meditation retreat center. I'm sure if you did some internet searching you could find others. I also attended many group meditation sessions at the Shambhala Center in Philadelphia. I think finding a community of fellow meditators can have a profound experience on one's practice. Hope this helps in some way.

@machinegun Look in to Zen strong determination sitting retreats in Japan. They force you to sit still for two hours and if you move, they smack you over the head with a stick.

Anyone who says they’re enlightened on this form in anyway is not, except me I am.

Vipassana, but it never works because the idea that they transmit is mistaken. All enlightenment method are mistaken, absolutely all. They have a mistake in the root, for them the point is being detached of your reactions, then they create a duality between you and your reactions and they call it non duality, and to resolve that paradox they define the reaction as illusion. That seems innocent, but encloses you without exit.

You could meditate 20 years no stop, but if you are prisoner of an absolute mistake, you won't exit of it

Honestly I think the only way to get really enlightened is to abandon society and meditate in a cave . Enlightenment retreats are good to some extent  though . online enlightenment is just entertainment.

“God is the Alpha Omega .. the beginning-less  beginning and the endless end .
He is the first without start . He is the last without end . He is the manifest actuality ..nothing covers him . He is the most hidden essence  ..nothing can grasp him .. nothing below him or more subtle than him .The ego is the belief I’m separate from god . Because being god is too good to be true .No matter how dark it gets or difficult it gets ..no matter how long it is going to take .. my destiny is the infinite happiness and infinite joy and love as the best thing ever ..God .  “

-that’s a me .

It’s not impossible you just have to use the difficulties of living in a city to your advantage. Enquire why you suffer them for example.

But even if you’re very serious about spiritual growth to not be consumed by the various distractions within a city is dam hard.
