how much does IQ matter

66 posts in this topic

Iq is what most everyone on this forum tends to identify as spiral dynamics development levels, it's increasing complexity. There's not a known way to increase iq but there are a lot of things that hinder people from utilizing more of their iq, things like lifestyle and social issues. IQ is how your brain is wired, pattern recognition, which you can alter your brain in positive ways but actual IQ would probably be extremely difficult, like giving yourself autism.

hinking (logically) is about stringing multiple things together, so it's quantitative, so more, faster, bigger, is a lot of what IQ is about. Feeling is more qualitative and you can just give an answer based on a feeling and that's it.

IQ is about both intuition and thinking

INFPs are smarter than ESTJs

Ni = how much you are in your head

INXX have the highest Ni

Sensing is just picking up on concrete information from the environment either directly or through memory, which also involves pattern recognition, but your thinking is embedded in that particular environment somehow ("we put that screw into that thing here, see, then it fits (S). Because the screw supports the weight of the leg (T)").

sensing and intuition lie at opposite spectrum. if you have one thing more , you will have less thing the other. if you have more Ni , you will have less Se

Ni = being in your head and correlate more to intelligence

You could say intuition tends towards IQ more than sensing because it deals with often more complex patterns and just more patterns in general because abstractions don't need to be tied to something directly in front of you and can grow outwards like a tree and can connect to other things not currently right in front of you. So it tends towards more quantitative.

intuition = how much are you in your head. and correlate more to intelligence

In other words, ENTP/INTP > INTJ/ENTJ > the rest (I wouldn't want to go into tertiary functions or extraverted vs introverted sensing or feeling functions for the sake of everybody's time).

in terms of intelligence  INTJ > INTP > ENTP > ENTJ >rest

INTJ have all the things that make them more intelligent than INTP. INTJ have 4D Ti ,4D Ni , 3D Te and 1D Se. INTP are blind in Se and Te is in ignoring side. means they move towards Te only after everything else is lost . as a last resort. nevertheless they are 2nd most intelligent type

What iq tests have you taken, and how do you apply systems thinking in your life?

@Ramanujan according to my understanding, IQ measures the rate at which you learn. It doesn't mean that what you learn will be true as you can learn all the wrong things. By learning all the wrong things quickly these beliefs can sometimes become entrenched depending on the environment this person operates in.

For example, a person with high IQ could learn religious justifications for slavery quickly and deeply. They might even out debate you by making it seem convincing. It doesn't mean what they believe is true. Similarly, they could become con artists by learning how to effectively lie to people for their money.

IQ matters for the rate at which you learn. Commitment to truth is a separate matter. Here on actualized we see intelligence more as commitment to truth and alignment with God through consciousness. This requires open mindedness and a willingness to question what we believe. If a person has deeply entrenched beliefs, then you might have someone with high IQ who sounds like a complete idiot from the outside because they learned the wrong things quickly and didn't question it.

@trenton @Carl-Richard

Also the J vs P type in mbti pertains to a certain discomfort with ambiguity.

P types feel comfortable without needing a final answer whereas J types need the final solution or to arrive at something - certainty vs. openness. Absorbing data vs. finding a solution.

I've seen charts that show INTP is the most intelligent followed by INTJ.

I think that IQ tests do in a sense reward fast thinking that reaches a conclusion but there are people that process more data but don't necessarily filter well. There's tradeoffs to each style.

INTPs I subjectively consider more intelligent because they don't close themselves off to information and better with ambiguity and cognitive dissonance. INTJs better for execution.
