Yeah, this can be expected as long as the relationship between the cause and effect is roughly equal. I.e. I say mean things about you, you say mean things about me. Not that I say mean things about you and you kill me for it

Or maybe it's like a collective, where there are a lot of imbalances, pressure builds, and eventually something snaps, and bubbles to the surface in the form of an extremely intense event. Which ultimately leads to more awareness, more love.
