What Does An "Awakened" Person Look Like To You?

23 posts in this topic

A group of people claim that a certain person is "awakened" or "enlightened." You go visit him/her. What do you see?

I would expect an enlightened being to act beyond what people expect an enlightened person to be like. Because pure spirit is not conditioned, it's always free and unique in its expression so all the past examples of enlightened people wouldn't help even. And when you get surprised by the uniqueness of a enlightenment one's behavior, it will confuse you and you'll be faced with a choice to judge the entity as wise or as a fool. That feeling of confusion is probably a good sign you're dealing with something worth paying attention to.

You lost me, to much fluff, just cut straight to the chase without all the extra words.

If someone claims that they are enlightened, smile and leave there 😊

A human Being

Deal with the issue now, on your terms, in your control. Or the issue will deal with you, in ways you won't appreciate, and cannot control.

You talk less about spirituality with others.

Go listen to Peter Ralston, but then again you don't really know him personally so it's harder for you to confirm what an embodied awakened being looks and lives like from inside.

Maybe it feels like entering the event horizon of your own consciousness when in the presence of an awakened one. I could imagine someone that values Truth over all else. Very blunt but loving. Someone that is an exceptional human being. Basically your question is " who is self actualized"? That's what Leos life purpose is, to actualize, to integrate and transcend, self actualization. Someone that doesn't fuck around with personal development, but takes it seriously And ties everything in a big picture overarching consciousness of God.

Can you be enlightened and still be an asshole?

It seems to me that an asshole is quite identified with his own emotional baggage. And when he treats others poorly, he isn't even aware of how it affects the other person. It just feeds his own ego.

But I think that people can understand the process of awakening and what it entails. And frequently fall back into their own patterns. It's like... they know the theory, they've even experienced it sometimes, but they haven't really integrated it deeply enough for it to stick when things get challenging.

Examples such as Osho or Robert Adams.  If you want to get an idea of what it feels like to witness Jesus or Buddha then watch Osho & Robert .truly awakened people. Not mentioning Leo because he is still young .Once his beard turns gray then you can add him lol.

"When you get very serious about truth you accept your life situation exactly as it is. So much so that you aren't childishly sitting around wishing it were otherwise. If you were confined to a wheelchair you would just accept it as how reality is. Just as you now just accept that you are not a bird who can fly."
