How would you rate the place you were born or live

1-10

10 being the best

Did the Universe/God/Yourself drop you in a good spot?

I live in a small-ish western European country.

I would give it a 9 probably. Beautiful, democratic, free, safe.

The family i was born in could have been better because i basically only have a single mother. Grandparents died young and so on. And i think this is one of the biggest problems of the west. Small families, very individualistic lifestyle.

Then maybe you shouldn’t give it a 10?

Or do you like freezing your ass off?

I was exaggerating a bit. I think temperature would be a little problematic no matter where I lived. It doesn't take much before I get really hot and sweaty either. I also love snow in the winter.

Australia

9/10

Even just ignoring the fact that I was born here, it’s objectively one of the safest and most prosperous countries on the planet. Sure it has its problems but when you compare to third world countries (and even some places of Europe / USA), it’s basically a paradise. I try not to take it for granted every single day.

I have lived in Sydney for like 6 months. Nice place.

3/10 I grew up in the hood. I was scared to leave my house. I was jumped probably 5 times. I had to get a paper job to buy a playstation and the adults were drunk and were threatening to take my collection money. Somebody jumped me and held a knife to my throat for my hot wheels.

Sometimes it's the journey itself that teaches/ A lot about the destination not aware of/No matter how far/
How you go/How long it may last/Venture life, burn your dread

Good on you. If given the opportunity to migrate to a different country, would you take it?

I presently live in the country where I was born. God dropped me in a very bad spot. I feel as though I were a fish dropped in the desert. I'd rate it a 3 of 10.

My home country is deeply religious and belongs to the 3rd-world category. I like the affordable prices compared to 1st-world countries, and I’ve honed my survival strategies here. But the culture and people’s worldviews are very different from my own. It’s summer here every day and I’m sick of it. I miss the 4 seasons. :(

I lived in Japan for a few years, and I felt completely at home there. The streets were clean and well organized, and people were polite. The country is dotted with beautiful parks and lush trees, and its four seasons are spectacular. I felt as though I were in heaven. I was always motivated to walk outdoors which naturally made me healthier and leaner. Being there always put me in my best state (physical, mental-emotional, and spiritual). I can only accomplish my highest divine purpose when I’m in Japan. So anyone who can help me return will have my eternal gratitude and goodwill.

I mean it depends where. But probably just temporary. But never say never.

@Twentyfirst don’t be shy

I think this is a 20th century predicament. With modern plane travel you can go anywhere you like :) Even if you have a shit passport you can scrape up money to buy some Caribbean one and use that for visas

My place of birth is confusing so I won't go into that but I like to travel to all corners of the globe

I'll guess your favorite season - SUMMER!. How do I know? Because all or almost all people in the temperate and northern hemispheres, summer is their favorite. Every time I asked my former Japanese students' favorite season, they replied "summer".

But that confuses me because I always heard complaints about how hot summer is hot, how they needed air conditioning, and how they craved cool cold foods and drinks. So why is summer their favorite?

When I say autumn is my favorite season, I mean it. I love the orange-red-brown foliage and color transition. And I love the 15 degrees to 23 degrees Celsius temperature. I don't need anything else - no complaints.

Yea right now it’s hot. Like 32C and i‘m swimming in lakes and rivers every day a lot. It’s so beautiful. But also a lot doesn’t get done because summer is lazy. So autumn etc. are more productive. Yea the colour changes are too pretty. Winter can be a drag but then you know soon it’s spring.

In summer it’s more lazy. Beach lakes rivers. Outside esting gelato. Women in bikini or some topless. Parties outside. Cafe freddo. Different vibe. But it wouldn’t be special if all year was like this.

Numeric rating make no sense for me. Places have qualities and problems that are hard to pinpoint with numbers.  The place I was born was poor but was communal, there was quality time to play in the street, the street was closed so no cars passing, there was not asfalt. The area was near a slum and there was evental contact with crime violence, crazy stuff, but at same time there was a lot of joy. Was not in the big City but hectic enogth to have a stressfull childhood and teenagehood. Winters cold summers hot and humid. Lots of rain.

Later moved to a more Tropical area where was crazy hot but even more communal.

Later moved to Europe in a place with dry winters and dry summers, luckly near the beach so there is great connection with nature, moutains and years ago crazy club parties. But the economy is not the best of Europe, a lot of prejudice against imigrants( when I came and now) Portugal is where I live. Is more peacefull than Brasil and less brutal crimes, but still a lot of non sense stuff in the Government, and if the route of things keep going extreme rigth i feel soon it will be a bad place to live. Also is in state of desertification. Feels like Marrocos now. Fires didnt started yet but there is more summer days ahead. Let see.

You can also give a rating for community, one for crime,  infrastructure, society, nature, freedom etc.

When you are mis-step a little bit , things turns ugly. That's why I needed God. I'm so sick now.

Im so sick now. Or to make sickening things surfaces.

as a place(enviroment) 10 cause I love sun. As a country 5 cause it's not the worse but it's definitely not the best, too much corruption, not much value or justice for human rights violations, not too developed in short. As a city 6 cause the positive things are that it's very small so I live in nature, not too much people or criminality, life of simplicity, the negative things are that it's so small, not many interesting things to do, not many kind of personalities and new people, not many interesting stuff, too much close mindness.

You asked "Did the Universe/God/Yourself drop you in a good spot?". Well considering bullying, abuse, food addiction, height discrimination, I guess my deterministic life's rate is a 3. But then again Universe gave me a curious mind that produce many abstract ideas that I have never met anyone that is like me expect Leo and people of this forum. So I guess my life is an 8/10 all things considered.

I really wish Universe game me imagination and drawing skills though but it didn't care that much for that.

So yeah, an 8/10.
