Mauritius: 7/10

It's the most developed country in Africa and it's overall fine. The government is stable, it's generally safe with low violent crime, the climate is agreeable with temperatures around 33 °F the winter and below 86 °F in the summer, there are beautiful beaches all around, and the population is multicultural (a mix between mostly Indians, Africans, French, and Chinese). However, it's quite dirty and disorganized, people don't earn that much money, lack education and good manners, there's a growing drug crisis, many goods are imported which causes them to be expensive, and LGBT+ rights aren't that much of a thing.

NI - UK 0/10

Im actually glad my country is 0/10, if it were something like 3/10 it would make the decision to leave more clouded and harder.

10 being the best

Did the Universe/God/Yourself drop you in a good spot?

I live in a small-ish western European country.

I would give it a 9 probably. Beautiful, democratic, free, safe.

The family i was born in could have been better because i basically only have a single mother. Grandparents died young and so on. And i think this is one of the biggest problems of the west. Small families, very individualistic lifestyle.

5/10.

US.  Needs lots of work and has a tyrant in charge.   Definitely muffed up.

7/10 Midlands countryside, Small town.

Plenty of greenary and life. Good air, low crime. Conservative as heck but not the modern drama queens. Many farmers and workmen here, or the last of the middle class.  Things don't tend to sway the people here as much, or affect the place as much, the atmosphere is pleasant. For the same reasons it can get boring here, traffic connections are not that good but for raising kids there are not many better places to pick, if you can get in the school because...

Moving to a 6/10

They are and have been building houses here without services, more each year. Every problem comes from that. The doctors are overwhelmed, there are too few shops, the school can't take all the kids, no parking, etc. Same with the other nearby small towns. The developers get together and build just enough so they don't require a shop, a school, utlities or police for example. I thought this would be cumulatively counted, but apparently not; as long as the immediate developments don't require it, only homes are built.

So we had that escaped Boston criminal running around not long ago, because there are no police, only one that goes around all the local villages and towns, then two community officers. Barely ever here. If you need medical attention, good luck, which is pretty much what they tell you, we'll be there in a few hours, maybe.

I don't like to use ratings as they are very subjective in their nature, but Ima say this - I like living in my country. Wages could be significantly increased and retarded politicians replaced, but you could say the same near about every country. If you think politicians influence the quality of your life then you are looking at life the wrong way. I like our geographic location and I like our nature and climate, and those things are the most important at the end of the day, more important than how's the country's current economic, political and cultural situation. On the contrary, because of this I feel like a lot of you guys are overrating your countries a bit, a lot of them are going to experience significant enviromental problems (if they are not experiencing them already), and are located in tricky locations such as near the oceans and seas, very tropical locations etc.

7/10 Mexico city

I was lucky enough to live in a city, because overall, Mexico is falling apart as you might have heard. But somehow Mexico city is like a bubble inside the country, it's still pretty bad, don't get me wrong, but It's not a -2 like in other parts of the country.

Detroit - 6/10. I'd bump that rating up to an 8/10 if America itself was in a healthier place.

You can have pride in a place while recognizing that it has problems.

Detroit has undergone a renaissance over the past 10-15 years, but much of that newfound prosperity hasn't made its way outside of downtown yet. Very reasonable cost of living for a place with a rich history and a vibrant culture, with tons of things to do.

On the other hand, Detroit is located in America, a backsliding democracy with a wanna-be dictator at the wheel. And god help you if you get sick here, since our private health care system is essentially a pyramid scheme meant to extract money from people
