Ya ok good point. And I'm sorry if I made you feel unvalidated.

Please don't ever feel like a piece of meat! Your fellow brothers love you , only the elites think of you that way.

Thank you @enchanted. Sorry for being mean, I know you're very smart, they were purely ridiculous insults and I don't think you're any of those things.

I havd many friends always into Astrology Talks and Tarot reading. Even my mother is into Tarot and Radiestesia and using penduluns to ask the universe stuff. Is like watching kids talking for me and I dont even have desire to take them put of their daydreaming.

@Leo Gura

If death is infinity and eventually we'll realize that after physical death, why bother Waking Up before physical body dies? If there is no judgement in the end and nothing we do here has any point ultimately, why bother living a Good life? Why bother anything at all?

My answer to that would be that why not, what's the alternative? Alternative is a totally unaware selfish life, being an animal basically with some cognitive abilities. I can't exactly pinpoint why that is wrong per say, other than that it feels bad, it's highly biased living which after some point becomes a source of suffering by itself. But suffering is kinda irrelevant because truthful leaving also comes with it's own suffering. The bias itself makes it not okay because it isn't objective, it's just a bias.

The reason I'm asking this is that lately I've been overly stressing myself for failures over my attempts of deliberate & conscious living, and that post on Death got me thinking if my attitude was correct. Was wondering what were your thoughts on that.

You sure love to nitpick rather than getting the gist of what is being said.

Keep in mind the blog shares half-baked insights. Says so on top of the blog. The blog is not a book.

I agree that we shouldn't think reality owes us enforcement of our constructed rights.

But the error I highlighted isn't a nitpick. It's load-bearing. You wrote that men not thinking rape is wrong is "the actual reason why rape is so common," and your takeaway rests on that: "It happens because human rights are a fiction that many others do not share."

It's true that some men, especially in certain cultures, don't see rape as wrong. But most rapists know it's wrong and do it anyway. Do you think Catholic priests don't believe it's wrong to molest children? People violate norms they themselves endorse all the time, and it's far more common than people violating norms they don't believe in.

Once you account for that, your explanation doesn't hold, and what's left is something like: "A right isn't a guarantee. People can and will violate it, and reality doesn't stop them, so understand why it happened instead of moralizing." I agree with that 100%, but I'm failing to see the revelation here.

Also, nitpicking is how you turn a half-baked insight into a fully-baked one. If truth is your highest value, you should welcome the correction, because it's 100% valid and consequential.

I work with men from different places in Africa. There is wide variance in their development. But, yeah some guys really have a hard time. Like big children. Many never had access to a phone or computer until they came to my country.

Though some are clearly well educated they come from different roots which is very clear.

I sat and listened to a very drunk, grief filled African man this morning. It was insightful.

There cannot be a reason to be Good. Good is for itself.

If you don't love Good, don't be Good.

Waking Up is not a should, it is for those who love understanding Reality so much that they cannot live without understanding it. Pursue Awakening if there's nothing else you'd rather do.

Being alive and Awake is different than not being alive but Infinity. Both are God, but different experiences.

You are correct that you can struggle with living up to your own ideals.

However, rape is such a serious crime that if you truly felt it was wrong, you would not do it. Just like you don't do murder.

Rapists have the attitude of, "Ahhh, it's no big deal. She has sex with a bunch of guys anyway, so what difference does one more dick make?" Guys bullshit themselves about rape. They minimize it to nothing because from a man's POV, rape is meaningless. Guys even make the argument in their mind of: "Well, but if she raped me, that would be hot. So it's fine." Or they will say, "All women secretly dream of getting raped anyway. So women are hypocrites!"

My point was: If you truly understood what rape is, you would not do it. You would not even be tempted to do it, just like you are not tempted to murder.

The mind plays all sorts of tricks when it comes to getting sex. Guys get lost in those tricks.

Philosophy must be about truth, otherwise all your reasoning and systems will turn into delusion. Like post-modernism.

PM shows you what happens when you make philosophy about something else.

In the end, you want to be able to say that your philosophy is true. Otherwise what's the point? If you don't have a true philosophy then you have a false philosophy, which is just nonsense.

Anyone making philosophical claims of any kind is claiming they are true.

Philosophy is a battle for truth.

"If your moral commitment is strong enough, salient, and psychologically integrated, it will normally constrain your behaviour."

@Leo Gura is the above closer to your claim?

Essentially, zero or minimal crimes against women have a lot to do with the quality of internal administration and policing involved. This is complemented by conflict-proof international relations without wars and conflicts.

The Epstein cases in the US, Dutrov paedophilia scandal in Belgium involving high-profile bureaucratic and political figures, UK Islamist rape gangs exacerbated by police indifference,  and the recent rape and brutality scandal involving multiple police officers and police chiefs in Portugal shows that accountability should start at the highest level, failing which you are bound to have a low threshold of women's safety and empowerment.

At the external level, it is important to ensure conflict free and harmonious relations between nations, as women and children are usually the one's who suffer the most in wars and conflicts.

The two world wars resulted in systematic violence and mass rape of millions of women in europe which has been well-documented, and all of which could have been easily prevented by capable leaders, statesmen and diplomats which europe lacked back then as per historians. In fact, the phrase 'widows and orphans' are often used in the context of war and highlighting their vulnerable status.

I consider poor leadership synonymous with both internal and external disharmony.

So a quality administrative model that enables both external and internal harmony can create a secure ecosystem and culture that can bring about the necessary empowerment of women at various levels, and enable them to become effective leaders themselves who can further empower the said model as well.

Hi Leo,

I have a question about your recent blog post on Morality.

What is God's reaction to seeing a dying baby bird?

The answer to that would be:

It would do nothing?

Referring to the post on scientific studies being beliefs for people this is true. I wanted to add you also believe the ontology, epistemological structure and metaphysics are correct and complete of the western science in general.

It really opened my eyes to study Chinese medicine books written by westerners in these earlier cultural exchanges. This woman the author her father was a surgeon and she began to study Chinese medicine. It really opened her eyes as to how your type of medicine can blind you and bias your framing of healing and health. Chinese medicine offers very powerful ontological holism when also combined with western medicine.

Western medicine treats symptoms, where there is smoke their is fire.

Chinese medicine attempts to balance the whole system knowing the body heals itself.

You also assume the field as a whole is right. Entire fields can be wrong, or partial and full of blind spots and inaccurate information.
