@enchanted

This doesn't follow from what you said,  though.

Saying “Natasha, you're not alone; men also experience terrible forms of disposability and suffering.” can be compassionate. But if we then produce several posts about: male homicide, male war deaths, women outperforming men. Women receiving too much social sympathy & "female genocide” being questionable...
then the rhetorical effect is no longer merely to comfort.

It is redirecting the conversation toward whether women actually have it worse than men.

It's not about that. No one claimed men don't suffer. It's an assumption to think others aren't aware of mens suffering.

Ya ok good point. And I'm sorry if I made you feel unvalidated.

Please don't ever feel like a piece of meat! only the elites think of you that way.

Please don't ever feel like a piece of meat! Your fellow brothers love you , only the elites think of you that way.

Thank you @enchanted. Sorry for being mean, I know you're very smart, they were purely ridiculous insults and I don't think you're any of those things.

I havd many friends always into Astrology Talks and Tarot reading. Even my mother is into Tarot and Radiestesia and using penduluns to ask the universe stuff. Is like watching kids talking for me and I dont even have desire to take them put of their daydreaming.

@Leo Gura

If death is infinity and eventually we'll realize that after physical death, why bother Waking Up before physical body dies? If there is no judgement in the end and nothing we do here has any point ultimately, why bother living a Good life? Why bother anything at all?

My answer to that would be that why not, what's the alternative? Alternative is a totally unaware selfish life, being an animal basically with some cognitive abilities. I can't exactly pinpoint why that is wrong per say, other than that it feels bad, it's highly biased living which after some point becomes a source of suffering by itself. But suffering is kinda irrelevant because truthful leaving also comes with it's own suffering. The bias itself makes it not okay because it isn't objective, it's just a bias.

The reason I'm asking this is that lately I've been overly stressing myself for failures over my attempts of deliberate & conscious living, and that post on Death got me thinking if my attitude was correct. Was wondering what were your thoughts on that.

You sure love to nitpick rather than getting the gist of what is being said.

Keep in mind the blog shares half-baked insights. Says so on top of the blog. The blog is not a book.

I agree that we shouldn't think reality owes us enforcement of our constructed rights.

But the error I highlighted isn't a nitpick. It's load-bearing. You wrote that men not thinking rape is wrong is "the actual reason why rape is so common," and your takeaway rests on that: "It happens because human rights are a fiction that many others do not share."

It's true that some men, especially in certain cultures, don't see rape as wrong. But most rapists know it's wrong and do it anyway. Do you think Catholic priests don't believe it's wrong to molest children? People violate norms they themselves endorse all the time, and it's far more common than people violating norms they don't believe in.

Once you account for that, your explanation doesn't hold, and what's left is something like: "A right isn't a guarantee. People can and will violate it, and reality doesn't stop them, so understand why it happened instead of moralizing." I agree with that 100%, but I'm failing to see the revelation here.

Also, nitpicking is how you turn a half-baked insight into a fully-baked one. If truth is your highest value, you should welcome the correction, because it's 100% valid and consequential.

What if this is just fascination + identity + seriousness being inflated into universal importance?
