how are we meant to grow with that pessimism ;)

Pessimism is also “unchecked sneaky shit”. O.o Surface level stuff. 9_9xD

All we have to work with is bullshit = absolute freedom from knowing.

Of course, don’t take my word for it.

Viva la connerie! ✊🏼

Having a desire, to end all desires, is still a desire.

Although, a focused one, and not so flaky or all over the place.

Of course hormones play a role. But that's not really fair either. Yeah, it's easy to "transcend" sexual desire by cutting your balls off. But that's not really a transcendence of desire, that's just tuning your body to stop producing the desire. That's like saying I have transcend my desire for dick -- simply by virtue of the fact that I wasn't born gay. By that logic I am a master of transcending the desire for dick. It never even arises for me. But do I really deserve credit for that?

And furthermore, to say that one has transcended sexual desire simply because one has no sexual opportunities, is also a kind of cheat. The real test is when a hot girl rubs her ass in your lap and you are still able to say no.

How can people be born gay? It doesn't make sense that someone can be born gay when their biological function is specific to one gender. Sexuality is a human creation, our biological sex is built for our survival as a species.

Desire is the best friend & the worst enemy. It depends from where desire is coming from, from apparent ego or from "real" you. How to know? Feel. Does it feel like fear/lack or loving/abundance/joy? As long as you are in human form, you will have one or another desire, you will have an ego.

Only the last physical death erases the ego permanently from Consciousness.

Ordinary physical death makes no difference. You just switch bodies (physical body to an ethereal body), the ego remains largely untouched.

Only mahasamadhi can completely erase the ego.

As for transcending desires. How about abiding in God consciousness?

When I meditate on Love/God/Bliss, desires usually diminish to some extend. Sometimes sexual urges completely dissolve.

Yeah, that might happen. But ultimately, in the ultimate death, the ego is bound to perish.

I agree that mahasamadhi probably is the last death.

Most men would cringe from reading that line.

Can I ask when you became gay?

sex begets spirituality ... it gives you an initial taste of no mind ... it prompts the spiritual quest

eventually sex is no longer needed, you have far greater treasure ... you have gone from survive to thrive to arrive

When I was in year two I used to draw pictures of giant rockets that would fly too the moon and giant sky scrapers, Does that mean I am born gay? No, that's just me indulging in representations of power and beauty of my own creation.
