Hark ye yet again — the little lower layer. All visible objects, man, are but as pasteboard masks. But in each event — in the living act, the undoubted deed — there, some unknown but still reasoning thing puts forth the mouldings of its features from behind the unreasoning mask. If man will strike, strike through the mask! How can the prisoner reach outside except by thrusting through the wall? To me, the white whale is that wall, shoved near to me. Sometimes I think there's naught beyond. But 'tis enough.

@Revolutionary Think Idk if Leo really does like Bernie in preference of Yang, one possibility is that Leo thinks Yang has no chance so he's gonna push Bernie. Yang is yellow and ascended as fuck though, not a shill at all, very honest, uses facts and is straight forward in conversation. He's a democratic on the left advocating for some extreme views yet he still finds a way to have very civil conversations with right wingers who end up liking Yang. He's a man of the people.

@Revolutionary Think I can't think of any politicians who are as strong and explicit in what they want to do. It's just that he really is a man of character, if he ends up becoming the democratic candidate and he runs against Trump, you can call it gg cuz Yang would win. That's because Yang doesn't stoop to a low level. Only Hillary could have failed as badly as she did in the previous election.

Yes, but even if it doesn't, the money wouldn't be doing anything else anyway (and certainly would not be paid for by taxpayers, that is the most moronic strawman against the candidates that lean towards socialism), just like jeff bezos sits on his money and does nothing with it meanwhile others could use it and there would be no drawback to them having it instead of millionaires who don't use it

I'm not worried about that I'm more worried that the SJW wing of the democrats wont make Yang someone as the nominee because he doesn't do identity Politics and Cultural things I'm much more worried about the economic future of the country.

Yang is popular amoung young naive tech savvy stage Orange males.

It's technophile pipedreams.

It would be like if Elon Musk ran for president. His fanboys would be all over it, but they would not understand that Musk is not so advanced politically.

Don't confuse tech stuff with serious reform of society.

The Yang Gang is not stage Yellow, it's Orange. So watch out.

Yang pushes all the right buttons of tech savvy stage Orange males. Notice that. That's why they like him so much. It's an unconscious response, not careful critical thinking.

I don't think Yang himself is stage yellow, especially with wanting to give UBI to people like Jeff Bezos who don't need it at all

That would be me. But, my Orange is weakly developed.

I think Yang values liberty and autonomy more than other presidential candidates.

I'm just a guy who was told if I did well in school and University I'd at least have a financial path forward in my life. When I saw that it was Bull Yang was the one who made the most sense. This is the reason I'm for him.

A basic income just makes a hell of a lot sense.

There are only so much essential jobs, automation and technological development have replaced and eased a lot of it.

If you keep a work or die system with such technological development, you imply that forced luxury is more important than security/freedom, which is just aids.

Although Yang may be less conscious and less politically mature, UBI makes a lot more sense than free college. I just graduated college this week and in my experience it is an inflated shit show. I wouldn't want the government to be funding universities charging 300 dollars for outdated books, and overpriced faculty. Ill get on the free college train after some systemic reform. If Bernie can implement UBI in some way, that's the optimal scenario I can imagine.

@Leo Gura I remember a certain somebody calling Elite Universities a scam in their blog. This guy also called University education in general a scam too. Is making a corrupt and badly need of reform system free automatically make it good? That's like saying using leeches as a form of medicine is good the only bad thing about it is how much it cost.

After like 5 hours of his interviews I got the same impression of his thought pattern being Yellow, but he's playing the Green cards, its values and words to communicate effectively with most people. But ofc, he appeals to lots of Orange kids that feel they can band together and use the 1000/month to hustle and grind fourth that revolutionary idea/app that most likely will fall apart once they get into the nitty gritty of building it :P

I'm also seeing something similar. Rather than pouring tons of money into slow systems that indirectly "change" people's lives in a general way, which is not effective when you focus on each individual.. You can instead just give the money to the people themselves, let them be flexible with it the instant they need it to make a decision they need to move forward. This way you can reduce the money given to universities, because you know everyone involved at least got SOME economic foundation. People's lives change every week, and they might need niche solutions within a few days that a system won't understand or have the time to respond to.

And I think we kind of have changed since our tribal days, it's not like "if you don't contribute 15 hours a day, we are all going to fucking starve" lol, covering basic needs seem really obvious. And isn't money in circulation one of the most important things for an economy?

+I think UBI is not the ultimate solution, but it opens up for a whole new world, and abstract effects that are difficult to put into words, like Yang is mentioning "Giving people a sense of abundance and optimism". We can't really know until it rolls out. But politics have been so stale for so long, it might just need a crazy experiment.

Power to the people? Money is power

@Leo Gura I really think you're stereotyping when you say that all of Yangs supporters are just stage orange techie fan boys. That's painting everyone with a broad brush.

I guess this is a good little addition to this thread. Bernie's stance on UBI as of April.2019. Asked by an obvious Yang supporter. Only 2min.

The jobs that are dying will be given retraining programs to other fields. Sadly the success of retraining us currently at only 15%

UBI means the end of wage slavery. And less power to the politicians/goverments, they will fifgt with all their guts to never aprove basic income.
