Is Fapping Actually Bad? Nofap Worth It?

25 posts in this topic

Do anyone have experience with products of Real Social Dynamics?

I am thinking of buying some of them now, I am a total beginner, any suggestions?

Also is jerking off actually bad? I was into the nofap life for a month and a half, didn't notice a significant change in my anything although didn't fap for a month and a half.

When I search it up on youtube, it saids that fapping relieves stress, increase the quality of the sperm, and works out the pelvic (sex) muscle.

I guess that fapping is fine as long as I don't do it too much and don't watch porn while I am doing it.

am i right?

Of course No-Fap is real. I've living in a depression, mental fog lazyness all my twenties because the masturbation. I thought I had bad health, some disease, always tired and depressed.

Now i nofap till day 7 when theres a testosterone peak, and then release.

Now in my 30's I got more energy than ever, I have a physical job and workout lifting heavy weights. It also gives me more confidence in social situations. Its all true and it works.

@Evilwave Heddy  It's becouse of massive dopamine release from fapping which is reward to your brain that's giving singal that you acomplished something significant while in reality you just jerked off, in result of that you lower your motivation as your brain is already rewarded.

I've been doing the same and it works pretty good. I wonder how would it be actually getting to 90 days but aroud day 7 urges are getting really distracting. Have you ever gotten to 90 days and do you still watch porn ?

@Jordan wang porn can fuck your life pretty badly. masturbation is bad if you cannot live without it, just like any other addiction.

If I dont release in day 7 I start to get insomnia at nights because I cant handle so much energy. Experts say to transmutate this sexual energy into creativity, but I still dont know how.

Sure thats why all the geniouses like Tesla or Einstein didn had sexual life, they focused their masculine energy into their purpose. Only sperm retention do wonders, but I've read something about the kundalini, I mean breathing exercises and postures to channel the energy from the sexual chakra to the brain.

Mahatma Gandhi was a honest person, after age of 33 , he tried to transform all his sexual energy into creativity, in spite of all his efforts he was having nocturnal emission at the age of 70.

He was also doing creepy experiments with young women sleeping with them in bed.

He was testing his celibacy, he succeeded while he was awake, but when he was asleep, he had nocturnal emission at the age of 70. He was a honest person, so he wrote about it. He was capable of doing long fasting to maintain his celibacy, but we can't expect from a common person that he can transform all his sexual energy into creativity.

I'm not sure I buy that.  From what I understand is that he actually tried to hide it at first, and then later talked about it.  He did it with minors too.  I'm saying this takes away everything he did, human beings and human beings after all.  We are all not perfect angels.

@ajasatya But how do you stop being addicted to masturbation?

Whenever I move further than 3 days without, I feel like I need to do it so bad that I feel almost pressured into doing it.

It don't take anything from what he did.

We're talking about sex here, not murder or torture/rape.

Maybe in India it is seen as a devil act, but in the rest of the world, it's a basic human need.

i transformed my life in an endless meditation, full of spiritual practices:

  • zazen in a zen sangha 1x per week
  • hatha yoga classes 2x per week
  • kundalini yoga classes 2x per week
  • meeting krishna devotees 1x per week to meditate with the mahamantra
  • meeting nacion pachamama 1x per week to meditate with them
  • going to all silent retreats i could

whenever the urge to masturbate would come, i would become extremely mindful of the sensation and would observe it along with my breath until the urge went away. as time passed by, these urges became less and less frequent.

@ajasatya thank you for this.

I would really like to start yoga. Unfortunately I don't have the money for it, but I'm definetly considering it as a future thing.

How do you channel your sexual energy though? If I don't release it, this claustrophobic feeling comes over me.

If you don't masturbate your social skills will (have to) improve, in order to get better with women. Besides, you'll keep that energy for your sexual interactions.

NoFap highly recomended.

Yea, but he slept naked with young girls and tried to hide the fact.  Then only later did he try to paint it in this really virtuous light where he was only doing it as an experiment with controlling sexual desire.  I personally don't buy that at all.   That doesn't strike me as fulfilling a basic human need in a healthy way.

Again, it doesn't take away from anything he did.  Overall good guy, who had a few weak moments in his life.  He was just a man after all.

I used to be convinced that no-fap, (particularly the act of retaining sexual fluids) was a definite route of increasing energy, confidence, happiness, health, radiance, etc etc etc... I experimented a lot when I was a bit younger and had interesting results.

Personally however I can no longer be sure that the connection is as direct as I had assumed because in my experience, it is possible to create this level of transformation and MORE simply through intent - that is the power of belief. It is possible to transform from depression, mental fog, insecurity and low level functioning into very high states that are sustainable for moderate periods of time simply through a correctly or conveniently placed intention or belief. This can carry profound physiological changes alongside it. Therefore, it is difficult to state just how much of a correlation there is between not masturbating and the array of profound effects that people claim. Happiness is an internal birthright and it's possible that people are temporarily taking claim to it through this 'permission slip'.

I also have noticed that not many high masters have gone in depth about the connection between well-being, energy and masturbation. I have a theory that it may be because people would take it as pejorative and it may create sexual tension/shame in people - and suppressing the sexual drive can cause unforeseen consequences. Or perhaps the connection is overblown entirely.
