This forum is built for morons, and it actively implicitly supports the nation's worst aspects that created them.

They seek this environment as a refuge, but in return what they get is not just a reinforcement, they get an enabler.

A forum can be a great tool but it needs to be built on accountability and high-level discourse otherwise it's at best just chit-chat but realistically it will devolve into everyone's egos and shadows coping in their favored ways. 

I called out @Hojo quite harshly on some inappropriate comments he left in another thread about a month ago and he hasn't been back since. I have been reflecting on it since then wondering if I went too far but I concluded that no, it was a necessary check.

A certain standard must be held if we want to keep improving otherwise we will stagnate or worse.

Agreed. It used to be a very respectful place with a lot of sincere and interesting people some years ago. Now some of the threads genuinely read like people have completely lost the plot. At this point it has got to be one of the cheapest places on the internet. You can tell that some of the most active users barely have any real-life interaction with other human beings.

That includes getting her to qualify herself, explain herself, creating a lot of unresolved tension, creating opportunities for her to make decisions in my favour, leading her, connecting with her on an emotional level, getting her to open up to me, etc.
