I think it's worth giving extroverts a chance. Some people are honestly dumb and literally low IQ and not capable nor have the interest in entertaining deep ideas and its a fundamental incompatibility. Some extroverts are more nuanced than that and value depth in the right time with the right people and will see your ability to connect ideas and expand on them as an attractive superpower that they don't really have. 

That's especially why I like fields like media and business so much because going deep in them gives you so much ROI. A lot of introverts go deep on useless topics that don't yield much results for their life and I'm left wondering if its not mostly a function of escapism and avoiding the harder sides of life as opposed to a genuine unique interest in whatever they're into.

It's worth analyzing one's self and getting to the bottom of it for sure. 

Competence is universally attractive because it solves problems for anyone. That's why most of the richest people in the world are introverts because they go deep on problems and actually fix them instead of jumping around.

100%. I adapt to everyone like that in everyday life. But if I'm going out with the intention to connect with people, I'm looking for specific types, unconsciously looking for compatibility or seeing who I can pry open. This width vs depth idea seems to be one of the main things I've always unconsciously filtered for when I was seeking connection.
