Yes, it's true. Mark Manson recommends this in his book "models". Don't touch your dick for a week or two and you wont' have approach anxiety. It's a form of mastery imo

I see it more as an amplifier than your only source as motivation. Life purpose, pursuing women, reading books, gym are all enhanced through sexual energy cultivation, it's like upgrading the engine of your boat, you are still heading to the same destination but sexual energy can super boost your engine. That's been my experience at lest. 

 

Sex can also be had in a way where this energy is amplified and moved through in a conscious way, like tantric sex, rather than just pumped and released.

 

Semen retention combined with yoga, tai chi, or gym can be seriously powerful. Today alone i approached multiple women which i wouldn't have done had i spent last night looking at porn so judge it how you'd like, but i have dates lined up for the week with hot women.
