Just because a broken pipe stops the water doesn't mean the pipe was creating the pressure in the first place.

I did not claim anything.

I asked a question: How do you explain the loss of vision on brain damage?

You're saying the brain does not produce vision. Okay, then what produces vision?

Consciousness creates the brain.

The brain/eyes produce vision.

Consciousness also created that relationship.

@Jirh yes , these are analogies.
in your direct experience, where do you see objects , inside the brain or right where they are ?

btw Leo has explained this topic a lot in the past . I just haven’t reviewed this inquiry in a while .

“God is the Alpha Omega .. the beginning-less  beginning and the endless end .
He is the first without start . He is the last without end . He is the manifest actuality ..nothing covers him . He is the most hidden essence  ..nothing can grasp him .. nothing below him or more subtle than him .The ego is the belief I’m separate from god . Because being god is too good to be true .No matter how dark it gets or difficult it gets ..no matter how long it is going to take .. my destiny is the infinite happiness and infinite joy and love as the best thing ever ..God .  “

-that’s a me .

@Someone here

Direct experience is limited, because it implies that everything is just flat appearances, nothing more.

Even to come up with the concept of "direct experience" is wrong and contradictory to direct experience because you don't actually directly experience a direct experience. It's just a concept or a flat meaningless appearance among other flat meaningless appearances.

I answered by an analogy.

You've already heard what produces it from Leo many times, I think.

What I'll say is that vision cannot be caused by any phenomenon that it contains. Read my first post in this thread to get it.

@Jirh imagination is the only thing that exists; consciousness.

This is a dream. There are only dreams. You are dreaming!

I think most people have this idea of death as floating in infinite black space of nothingness. It's crazy when you realize we are already floating in an infinite space of nothingness, just hallucinating a reality there

It's not just flat meaningless appearences, when you eat food is it meaningless? Is experience of your life is just meaningless experience? Is experience of colours, sounds ect, is meaningless? Is having sex meaningless experience when you experiencing it? We pointing to being here not mind activity, when your mind is fully engaged in activity its absorbed within activity itself it's complete, direct experience isn't a concept to be analyzed it's simply the immediate reality of sensing, thinking, or being aware right now before any labels are applied.

It means that there is no intermediary between the observer and the observation. To understand that, you must throw out the view that you are the human body "looking" at an outside world because it's a construction based on the idea that some phenomenon is you and some not.

There is literally no distance between you and the mobile phone that you are using. Do you get how magical that is?

Hi everyone,

I recently re-watched Leo’s video on how State of Consciousness is Everything, and something clicked in a way that’s fundamentally changing how I view reality.

Intuitively, I’ve never accepted the materialist paradigm. The idea that existence is just atoms bouncing around randomly always felt cold and incomplete to me. Yet, despite that intuition, I realized I was subconsciously running a reductive, materialist operating system in the background of my mind. Whenever I looked at the world, my default assumption remained that consciousness was just generated by a physical brain.

Even after heavy psychedelic experiences, I kept defaulting to that old framework simply because I lacked the concepts to integrate what happened. During one intense trip, my sense of self melted away—I felt no boundary between myself and the carpet beneath me, and looking at my girlfriend felt like looking at myself. But because those experiences shattered my need for a "solid," stable bedrock, they spooked me, making me cling even harder to materialism for a while.

Recently, after diving back into Leo’s videos on naive realism and reading through his booklist, it finally hit me: reality is mental, and appearance IS reality.

It’s been a massive daily shift. My brain still occasionally tries to pull me back into reductive thinking, but after working through a lot of existential anxiety, I'm coming to terms with reality as pure Being.

It’s almost impossible to discuss this with people in everyday life, so I wanted to share it here. I don't claim to have it all figured out, but it feels like a fundamental threshold I'm finally crossing. Would love to hear your thoughts or advice on integrating this shift.

Also, I have a question, doe's society truly need scientists to tell people that flower is bunch of atoms?? I mean you can directly experience the flower and know what it is, why we need some scientists come and tell what it is, child know what flower and dirt is better than scientists. I had a discussion with a friend and he seems like that he needs  clings to scientific explanation what things are, it's crazy most people aswell, is it like collective delusion?

It's very backwards.  Think of it as you are Galileo and you discovered the earth was round.  But now you have to convince the Church.  Good luck.  Well, here we are.

No one would ever accept that reality is mental.  It's too wild.

The problem is not that maps exist. The problem is that maps are often misinterpreted as reality.

The solution is not to look for a new map to swap with, but to take a meta view above all maps.

It's too radical for the majority.
