Skyrim def beats Oblivion. Oblivion was the worst Elder Scrolls.

For Oblivion, the janky, buggy quality is part of the charm.

I don't mind bugs. The problem is the world is bland and the loot balance and enemy scaling was aweful.

I like everything on there except Kingdom Hearts lol could never get into that.

I played the demo for 3 on Switch 2 and I felt it was too repetitive. I think Final Fantasy Remake (also for the Switch 2), polishes enough that mechanic and feels matured.

Fair enough. I've found the radiant dialogue system endlessly entertaining, but the game didn't exactly age well.

Actually looking back, I'm not sure how I managed to play so much of it without breaking immersion.

Kingdom Hearts is so fucken stupid. Teen emo goyslop.

If your girl is super into Kingdom Hearts its genuinely a red flag. Means she's delulu.

Morrowind is the worst of the mainline Elder Scrolls games (everything that came out before Morrowind don't matter). It's like a shell of an Elder Scrolls game. Everything's there but lacking in fun mechanics and interactivity. Oblivion and Skyrim improve on the concept by leaps and bounds.

The only thing that Morrowind does better is challenge. Oblivion and Skyrim are very shallow comparitively. Not just in terms of combat difficulty, but in terms of RPG mechanics, how you navigate the world and even the lore and story. My main complaint with the newer games is that they are too easy and that the world revolves too much around the player character.

No way!

Nothing Bethesda ever makes will come close to the greatness of Morrowind.

Breath Of The Wild is better than Ocarina. Ocarina is very outdated now in scope and structure.

Nintendo cannot resist milking their old catalogue indefinitely.

I disagree, I found breath of the wild disappointing, Ocarina was much better for me. But I already played the previous remake many times so I don’t care to play it again.

And yeah the constant remakes are annoying, the least they could do is also remake majoras mask and bundle them together. Or better yet do a reimagining of them.

Even when I played (guild wars 1) I can see how ugly it is, and I wonder how my consciousness could ever thought this was ok.

( it's still charming and with a great design/ideas, and I love it, childhood memories )

I mean graphics still matter at the end of the day.

Peak elder scroll is skyrim, and that's all.

But there was a recent game also kinda cool "Dragon's dogma 2"
one of the last few good rpg I played.

I have wondered about this irony.

Why do I dislike puzzle games so much?

I guess it's because puzzle games force me to read the mind of the designer, which I have no interest in doing.

I don't play games to think. I play games to have a vacation from thinking.

But then I love strategy games. So somehow those are different.

Solving puzzles in games makes me feel like I am a dog jumping through hoops.

Solving those shrines in Breath Of The Wild is so unfulfilling and annoying to me.

@Leo Gura It's definitely puzzling that you don't like puzzle games:D.

You say you don't like it because it feels like you are being forced to read the mind of the designer and you feel like you are a dog jumping through hoops. Buuuut, isn't this what life is? You are a dog jumping through reality hoops and you need to read it's internal logic and structurexD. All games is you reading somebody else`s mind whether it`s puzzle or not.

Also, you like chess, which is literally a puzzle game. You are such a contradiction, Geo Lura:P

I dislike puzzle games the most.

Would you say you'd dislike Portal 1 and Portal 2, Mirrors Edge for falling into into that category? I found these ones fun, even though technically they're basically maze games to me.

I dislike games that are like The Talos Principle, The Room. Antichamber was too puzzlelike for me.

Have you played:

Grow Up & Grow Home? I love cute games like this that are unique in their own way.

I love games that have a creative aspect of moving through space.

A Story About My Uncle, Refunct, Cluster Truck, To The Top, spiderman games even, even though they will fall into being way too much on the rails.

Fez caught my attention, but it was so complex, I put it down. Perhaps I'll pick it up again one day when I want to make time for games again. Superliminal looked neat.

I loved assassin's creed primarily for the parkour.

But there is a big qualitative difference between other activities and puzzle games like Myst or The Witness. Those puzzle games can be infuriating to solve, which is very unlike playing a game like Morrowind or Mario. Many games may seem like puzzles in the spiritual sense, but they do not play like annoying puzzle games.

To me, solving a Zelda shrine puzzle is not fun, it is annoying. It is a chore. Every time I enter a Zelda shrine, I hate the game. If Zelda has zero shrines, it would be a better game for me.

Chess plays and feels very different than solving someone else's arbitrary puzzles. I would not call Chess a puzzle. It is more about strategy. And I love strategy games.

Playing Myst and playing Chess is worlds apart in experience. Myst is a frustrating experience.

Yes. Never even played those games because I knew I would dislike that kind of gameplay. I understand they are well made, but I do not enjoy such games no matter how well made they are.

I would not call Mirror's Edge a puzzle game. It's an on-rails action game. I do not like on-rails game either.

I've got like 50 hours in Morrowind. I respect it, but it's wildly outdated.

Still better than anything new.

Starfield slop is what you'll get next.

Right now Todd Howard is sitting in his office, brainstorming ways of putting AI into Elderscrolls.
