It's also not your mother xD

Yep. God is an infinite shapeshifter that is dreaming forever. I thank Mother Cannabis for opening me up to this realization. Wahoo!

There is a vast difference between infinitely dreaming narrowly as one part of reality  compared to unifyingly

Understanding God requires very serious questioning of all human teachings and ideas. Not just blindly following one path.

This is a sincere question, but what is the value in understanding God or expanding your understanding of God?

The reason I ask is because from all of these teachings, including yours the gist is that we are this one big non dual no thing expression of the absolute. And so then the purpose of this dream is to experience duality. We learn that the illusion is a feature, not a bug.

Now I'm sure there are technicalities worth bickering about but if the essential purpose is to experience duality as an expression of God, then this idea can help us understand that we are all one and live more conscious lives. This becomes the value of the understanding and spirituality. So what does taking this to an extreme and trying to fully grasp or comprehend do for us really? It feels counter productive almost. We're supposed to experience Maya.

I had a very similar experience to what Eckhart Tolle experienced after about a year and a half of meditation (often twice a day/focusing on the breath)

One morning I got up and the voice in the head(monkey mind) was silent.

It was realized how much identification with thoughts was distracting and influencing my life. I got a lot of work done that day because I could put all of my attention on what I wanted to focus on without distraction. I could still think just fine about what I wanted to think about.

It also started becoming clear that this veganawake character I saw myself as, wasn't real. It was like a fictional roll I had been playing for a long time. The settings and the scenery had changed over time, but the character was mostly the same. It became clearer and clearer over the next couple of years. It was a very radical experience especially being sober and level headed at the time.

Later it was recognized there never was a veganawake character from the start. It only had seemed to be real.

Buddhists I'm sure experience the self character Doing meditation and trying to Attain liberation. But it's an impossibe feat because the self character illusion never finds the peace and wholeness it's longing for. It's never satisfied.

Nobody becomes liberated!

“Everything is honoured, but nothing matters.” — Eckhart Tolle.

Some Buddhist texts are better than others.

This is from the lankavatara sutra,

"all such Notions as causation, succession, atoms, primary elements that make up the personality, personal Soul, Supreme Spirit, Sovereign God, creator are all figments of imagination and manifestations of the Mind itself."

In this case I don't see a contradiction between what Leo teaches and Buddhism, even if it ostensibly denies God, Mind in this case is the God that Leo refers to and God in this quote would be the dualistic God of religion . That's my two cents anyway.

Still not seeing much about intelligence or love tho.

Funny how Buddhists discourage thinking , I wonder how the people were able to write this sutra ? xD

The fundamental idea of Buddhism is to completely transcend the human matrix, totally and absolutely, to release all desire and attachment, and in this way open yourself to the absolute, being it.

This cannot be explained because any explanation would be relative. It is a fact, an action, a reality that occurs and which they call nirvana.

Their intuition is accurate and their nirvana real, but in my opinion, you can open yourself to it without becoming a Buddha indifferent to life and death.

Buddha means the knowing quality all the time.

Buddho means the knowing quality here and there.

So with this, we can ascertain that a buddhist is one who is training the ability to know. (and one need not be a buddhist, to practice this)

This knowing can be pointed at anything. I would look at it as a skill that can be used creatively. Not always as a way to extinguish thoughts.

Thinking skillfully I think is more the point.

Also - I personally tend to break away from generalizations like "buddhists, daoists, hindus," etc, because it is a form. When you do the practice, one will overtime do away with rites and rituals. But I suppose one could identify with buddhist daoist etc.

What are your thoughts on this?

Hey Leo,

I don't understand what you mean by Buddhists putting the cart before the horse. I'm curious about it. Can you elaborate?

What

Indeed. I think they got much right , problem is exclusively clinging to 2500 year old teachings without an appreciation for, ironically, the ever changing nature and evolution of teaching, not getting with the times and psychedelics etc. But some would disagree , saying if it ain't broke don't fix it.

The ancient traditions were created by people who lived close to nature and without the comforts of the modern world.  They were grounded in reality, and from this groundedness they reached higher states of consciousness with intense inner practice..  The Western materialistic mind is too immature to produce real spirituality, just fads, bling, and excitement to appease the easily bored.  It’s the difference between having a house built on rock and a house built on sand.  I’m a traditionalist.  Fuck the modern world.

If you look at it this way. it's for the better that Buddhism doesn't speak of God because as soon as the word God comes up the mind externalizes what is meant by "God".  That's probably mostly due to religious thinking/upbringing.

Whereas in Buddhism, one is persuaded to discover the one true nature which dwells within each. -Never give away the power within. Call it God, call it Buddha nature, call it Christ consciousness, call it enlightenment, call it whatever you want.

When the secret is revealed to you, you will know that you are not other than God, but that you yourself are the object of your quest.

There’s nobody being a Buddhist, it’s just a life style choice. Similarly, Islam is a life style choice. Christianity is a life style choice, etc etc…

God is the awareness of these life systems, without playing any part in them, they’re all just God's dream.

Look around the forum. How many times do you see questions like.......

Why does God _ _ _?
If God is _ _ _ ?
Does God _ _ _?

Who is this "God" you speak of?

And is there a distance from where you are to where God is?

And if there is. Then how long will it take to get there?

f you have adhd or otherwise can't sit still and you go to one of these temples you'll be forced to sit still and meditate, that's good, it builds accountability.

I feel like theres prolly a certain chemical or material embued into the temples, perhaps that is connected to phosphorus or things like this, that have some pull on the physical body, perhaps even imperceptible to some, nevertheless attractive, cause of that sortve acidic body we possess, of which is being drawn towards that sub-medicinal-chalky-thing, like theres a spiritual enriching side to the temples, alongside an alchemical attraction, possibly, im guessing, as i believe atleast some of these temples were using really sought after materials that we no longer use in todays shitty capitalist / market hungry society or watever, i mean i cant find clothes that dont suck, but i bet theres millions of incredible clothing & fabric shops in them same countries w/ them temples.

Which is just to say the materials they use were so much better than todays. And in them countries, they still have practical shops w/ good clothing, good fabric, etc., iuno if they have like, ancient-material shops, but theyd prolly go dig it up for you if someone asked for it, if they had alot of money or sumthing, ha.

(cont.) like i feel like we take for granted somethin right under are noses w/ the ancient temples atleast, that is this like, ancient construction that is somewhat impossible by todays standards, as we gotta do everything in the cheapest way, like its like everything is built significantly worse in that way, granted we shouldbtnt let everything collapse, but its like, someones gotta take notice to the fact that weve been outmatched by ancient ppl who, according to science, were like the first civilizations? Nah, no way, how could these first civil., simultaneously have the best building and construction techniques, makes no sense.

(cont. ii) of course, right now Gobekli tepe and ancient zagri / zagros mountains, and those places, are the New hot shyt, and thats settin back the timeline on 1st civiliz., but then its like, you got this like, ancient taxonomy / classification of farm animals, like noahs ark, and these slabs of some material, arranged in a complex way, like thats only an indications of, what i think is the large consensus of a reboot on the whole flood story, or some memory of something like that, in monumental formation. Like what else could that be but a Noahs ark thing, just going by the images on each stone. Thats why its sortve off limits in a way, cause you cant have Noah being a real person, referencing real ancient things that dettch from the bible. Like, there are sites in Iran that theyve since demolished i believe cause they no longer serve these fake-as-fk stories that we told ourselves, and thats ashame, cause the real story was prolly alot more wild n crazy.

The human being is composed of all the biological matter but also dimensional energy centers, and magnetic fields. Awakened and cultivated beings imbue their objects, interactions, and crafts with their energy. When this energy is transmitted, then objects can have stored information and radiance which can make people feel calm, sleep better, etc. Aside from the purely physical, there are energetic aspects as well. This is why spaces can have this kind of feeling when built by people with this quality.
