Ok now you are talking..Yeah, my grandparents were blue!  From the bronx and married all those years.  But here's where the model starts to die - my grandpa was not blue, he was far more advanced than that, though he had blue from his culture.

Not necessarily though.

Because yes, Blue is good at commitment. But look at what it sacrifices for that commitment.

It requires radical self-repression and conformity.

Development is not straightforward, linear progress. It's a twisted, counter-intuitive process of evolving tradeoffs.

You're probably worse at commitment precisely because you came from a more developed culture than your grandparents.

Well, ordinarily that would be true.  And I am appreciating your intelligence.  But the truth is I'm just a selfish bastard.

What does that mean to you being a selfish bastard? Like you're not good at compromising? Can you give us some examples, I think that will help a lot to break it down.
