I think it has to be something thats just part of your lifestyle, its not a quick fix thing so, get a diet and workout that you can actually stick to

yeah that's the mindset.

Ive been going gym pretty consistently for 10+ years, but noticed a real difference over the last couple years when I added more steps and was a bit more careful with diet, eating more protein, creatine. But generally im not super strict.

Ngl though the aches and pains at 41 are real, so may adjust what I do but still worth it

that's an insane physique to have at 40, i respect the dedication. hope nothing stops you from training.

I got a personal trainer. One of the Best decisions I ever made. It true working out takes some skill and knowledge.

If personal training is out of reach for you use AI to make a training plan. Just enter your past injuries, goals, skill level and as much info as you can. AI will make a good plan for you. The only thing it won't help with is real time form monitoring but AI does give you form tips and YouTube Videos also help.

I never tried one, i learned everything on YouTube. but I've always been athletic since i opened my eyes so it wasn't difficult for me at all.

i generally enjoy going to the gym, but sometimes i find that environment overstimulating. there's loud music and lots of people are walking by, sometimes a little too close.

usually, i don't get ill that often, but this year i had a bad cold twice, so that was a reason for not going....and then while preparing for exams, i also couldn't go that often. i'm trying to make up for that now.

in general, i think a lot of people are afraid of going to the gym because it seems like a bit of a harsh environment that invites a lot of judgement and comparison. imagine being overweight or even obese...i'm sure it's challenging to start going to the gym when there are lots of well-trained people there, and it seems as though all eyes are on you. personally, whenever i notice someone like that, i feel a lot of respect for them, but it's probably quite tough for them mentally.

That sucks.

How did you injure yourself? Lifting too much weight without proper form?

Different things each time. Recently it was helping my dad doing construction work in the house. Last time it was doing squats. I'm quite sure I had good form but since my injury when I was like 19 it hasn't recovered that well.
