What kind of watch do you have?

I currently use the Garmin Instinct 2x Solar and have been using it for the past year and it’s awesome!

I am in the market for an upgrade and was wanting to know what kind of watch you all use.

Please post the watch that you use and why you like it.

I was considering upgrading to the Garmin Fenix 8 or Tactix 8 or waiting until the next gen (Fenix/Tactix 9) comes out.

I am planning on getting into more adventure stuff like scuba diving and skydiving, so it seems to fit for me to upgrade.

I don’t mind spending $1,000 on a watch as long as it has good functionality, health metrics, and quality. Rolex watches are an overpriced scam.

I'm a fan of pieces with true horological purity so I avoid anything Swiss or too standard. Currently rocking an ultra-rare, hand-molded Polymer Calibre 1998. The movement features an integrated zero-jewel escapement, zero VPH frequency, and a 100% in-house plastic chassis. The lug-to-lug wears a bit light, but the vintage patina on the dial speaks for itself.

Found it at the bottom of a Lucky Charms box I bought while shit faced day drinking, one of the other ones I was looking at talking to an authorized dealer didn't pan out so this one is my main piece at the moment.

For fitness a basic Garmin Vivoactive 5 on the left, and usually some sort of mechanical on the right. I have a few - these are just some:

Mix of mech/quarts - Seiko I just like, Pierce (wartime watch I restored given to me by my late grandfather), Longines (nurses watch), and an Australian Olma with swiss internals. Peirce are a unique watchmaker that made their own movements and, if I recall correctly, first created a vertical faced chronograph. Casio digital bling mode

I really like unusual watches. But mechanical watches are a BITCH because servicing and upkeep are $$$. But they last - the Pierce is almost 100 years old!! Works perfectly

I just bought the Garmin Tactix 8. I will post about it once it arrives. It was $1500 USD, but it has many health metrics and functionality that I care about.

Fitbit Air for fitness tracking, and a Boldr Venture Titanium watch on the other wrist.

An older Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, it's fine for tracking steps and calories, which is all I really use it for.

I just got the Garmin Tactix 8!! The thing is a total badass!! I love it so much. Worth every penny so far. Has good battery life, awesome flashlight, and good tactical/health features. It is the ultimate spy/adventure watch. I bought it from here: https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/1828741/

Buy this watch if you care about tracking your fitness and being able to hit a trail and leave your phone home.

Keeping it pretty simple with this Casio for everyday use.

Considering saving up for something more luxury like a Rolex or Grand Seiko sometime next year.

Nice! I have seen this watch at Walmart. I recommend getting a Garmin or Coros. If you are gonna be spending $$ you might as well get something that is more functional. But if you just want a good luxury watch that only tells you the time, then Rolex Submariner or Omega Seamaster 300m would be great options. Also, Invicta has some good looking Rolex lookalikes for cheap.

Before when I was still working as an IT-consultant I had a couple watches.

At the time was also looking for a super low profile one like this. (not this exact one but gives you an idea)

Then I stopped caring about materialistic stuff.
No watches anymore. Phone is good enough, time looses importance, I move in my own time.

The only watch I use now is my dive computer:

Suunto D6i Novo with air integration. Old but still works. I only wear it for dives

If you are going for materialistic stuff, go stand out elegant. Don't go conformist, Rolex Omega, whatever all conformist.
A nice elegant watch does not have to be expensive.
