There are definitely wrong ways. It's a problem if you act like it doesn't matter or come off as encouraging.

Suicidality is a cry for help, so don't be a chud. That's a low bar to clear.

I mean, you can dissuade them if you don't want them to commit suicide. But pointing to very general and abstract individual beliefs they hold to explain their proximity to suicide is a game of statistical whack-a-mole. Is the belief in an afterlife causing suicides? What about the belief that nothing happens after you die and it's just a blank nothingness? What about reincarnation? What about "everything is love"?

Yeah, I guess in Nahm's defense, he did also say: "If I am Wakefulness, the last thing I'd be thinking about is jumping off bridges. I'd be so passionate and enthused it'd take a hundred lifetimes to experience everything I want to experience."

the low quality is a technical problem. Modern platforms use likes to auto-evaluate a quality of posts

Many likes don't equal quality, but pupularity.

He is quite particular with who he selects.

I saw your question: “Do you think being a moderator means we're not allowed to express our personal critiques?” Unfortunately, I can't reply in that thread because it has been locked.

So here’s my reply:

If you value genuineness, goodness, and integrity, then you should openly express your critiques of Leo; especially that he administers a spiritual and personal development forum. How he reacts to your critiques is his problem. I’ve seen a few moderators being dethroned recently. Even if you end up dethroned yourself, you should still honor your values. The important thing is to ensure that your critiques and opinions are sensible and valid.

Just making sure I adhere to the pattern to confirm it - consider it a free service in transparent stratagems

It is far easier to fool someone, than to convince them they have been fooled.

I considered that, haha.

What if this is just fascination + identity + seriousness being inflated into universal importance?

Honestly,I mostly only lurk here but I feel most of the convos I happen to see are....low conciousness? Low quality argument? Not all, but enough to leave a bad taste most of the time.

When I joined here, i expected people to be in their own journey figuring life out, stuff out, but most of the time it's random people defending dogmatic beliefs that they learnt from Leo. Weird thing is the work is literally about becoming concious of them and breaking them.

But, could it be that since these people are the loudest, that's all I see and most people are actually normal and chill? Not sure.

I think just ban people and be merciless. Calling this a cult is probably one of the dumbest thing I see people arguing. Literally, you can just delete the account and move on....

If people can't even think for themselves, what's the point of Leos work? At that point it's better off to ban people and force them to confront their real life. I wouldnt be suprised if they took the same energy and start wasting their time on reddit.

Also if your identity is based off of Leos work, that's also dumb. Treating it like a source of truth. No.

Read, gather different perspectives, figure this out for yourself. I see Leo as a possibility of Reality. That's it. Not as a Truth. Will never be unless you see for yourself.

Leo spoke about this before.

Essentially, he said he is willing to make the trade-off of allowing less mature people so that actualized can be more accessible.

I'd personally prefer a more liberal use of the ban button.

Why did you de-mod yourself?

I understand the curiosity. But I'd rather not talk about that.

Don't want to become a liberal use case of the ban button?

You got me. I actually just got helicoptered to the hospital because I had three heart attacks out of fear of being banned. Luckily the pilot let me use their phone to reply to you now ;)

Do you get banned for talking about stuff like that?
