He was playing 10 vs 11 in the extended two half’s . He had no choice but to defend.

Aha, yeah you right.

maybe you haven't played sports in competitive way, you haven't grown playing with your neighbourhood team or classmates against other teams and have rivalry. maybe you are not that good at sports. or maybe you are thinking about it instead of living and engaging with it.

I'm not being offensive, but it's stange to me for a masculine man to say he doesn't enjoy sports.

if you just meant "i don't enjoy watching sports as an adult", then i understand and can relate actually.

To me I have a hard time living vicariously through others. I have played soccer and basketball growing up, I wasn't particularly good at them though. I am particularly good at esports, I was Challenger in league of legends and still didn't really care about watching the world series or LCS.

I mean since you touched on the masculinity part I'll bring it back down to utilitarianism, I'm quite masculine but I mostly value things that can benefit me not watching another man fulfill his goals. To be fair it's a function of extroversion and introversion probably, my feelings are in my bubble as an INTP.

True

I blame Argentina's coach, he removed all there attacking players and left Messi by himself.

He was playing for a penalty shoot out.

Did look that way, and to be honest I couldn't entirely blame him because Spain are clearly a better team.

It is a form of artistry.

I agree, it's just that it had become all about winning at all costs for me, and then when I started to see how unimportant winning actually was, my interest in it started to fall away pretty drastically.

Speed is such an inspiration, he got to perform at the half time show. They actually refused him in 2022 so it's a good lesson on perseverance

Him meeting Ronaldo is like an ego death in real time lol he goes through every emotion and bows down to God in the middle lol, guy is so shook he falls to the wall and the ground multiple times. Brought tears to my eyes to watch. Very inspiring in terms of achieving your goals

The argentinian team were more worried about pushing their opponents instead of the ball.

That's the culture, low development.

Argentina has a culture of doing whatever it takes, I don't wanna single them out and be racist myself it's a common trait of all civilizations until we learn as humans to do better but it's worth calling out.

They cheated in the 1990 world cup and drugged the Brazil players with a water bottle spiked with tranquilizers in the round of 16. This was admitted by their national hero Maradona which is also an accused rapist so there is also that. Human nature is just so predictable the more you study it lol.

I am not worried about calling out I just don't want to lie to myself.

I just can't defend it.

I just learned they are also behind the red/yellow card system because in 1966 their captain refused expulsion lol

I've talked to many people about this, they said Spain had the better team overall.

Argentina played very good against England, but very poorly against Spain. Things of life I guess.

Easily put: spanish were flowing and creative, argentinians were in their heads and afraid.

But I put Spain first in the list.

Accident?

I think not.

"Yes, that specific order matches the historical ranking of the FIFA World Rankings for men's national teams. The list precisely follows the order of nations—Spain, France, Germany, Brazil, Argentina, and the UK (England)—when these top footballing powerhouses held the number one position sequentially in the past. [1, 2, 3]

Would you like me to break down when each of these countries reached the #1 spot or discuss their major tournament histories?"

:D Google says Leo Gura is from America which means that was a super lucky guess

Dudes, I don't even follow soccer. I have no idea what the ranking are, who the players are, none of that.
