Does THC increase or decrease consciousness?

5 posts in this topic

I've only done small doses of THC but my experience has been that it felt more similar to alcohol than psychedelics. It has usually made my thought process worse, more cyclic, stuck.

Curious if people had similar effects here?

Chronic use definitely decreases consciousness. Acute use could increase consciousness. Altho it's not as simple as that , it does lots of different things to the mind.

I think smoking it is more likely to decrease consciousness than vaping or eating it.

Depends entirely on your genetics.

For most people it does not increase consciousness but for some (like me) it does by a lot.

It seems to vary greatly for people, I know many people who can use it like alcohol to distract or just to relax and chill or others use it to function more properly in daily-activities, for me it becomes psychedelic very fast, with higher doses almost feeling like LSD.

For me it also almost always has some quality of paranoia. Also it almost always leads me to contemplate my thought-process and getting very deep insights into the nature of thought and also the capacity to turn off thoughts completely.
