Too hard music, don't let me bring up the band names about human anatomy.

I think my version or hard might be a bit off. I view those 3 tracks as having drops that hit like a wet noodle 🙃

I like a drop to hit me like a freight train with a cement mixer containing 20 fubars  😂😂😂

This is pretty good. Moby has some good stuff.

This is interesting. Not a fave but decent. The vocals perhaps drag it down for me.

This is interesting too. A bit too abrasive for my taste. But decent. I can see the appeal of it.

Overall, not bad. I can understand people liking those.

There's a lot of music where I just don't understand how anyone likes it.

@Leo Gura You know - cheers for taking the time to listen - I appreciate it!

I've listened to most of your playlists - for me your music taste is 'driving down the open road, windows down. Long, warm & balmy night, wind in my hair, thinking as the lights and roads weave by' vibes. Chill, linear, calm mellow thoughts that stretch the depths. Dunno how else to describe the vibe but this is closest for me. I really enjoy your music. My overall taste just has a huge span.

Can't really shit on anyone's taste. I think our preferences for sensory experiences are a really nice way to see into the other person.

That's exactly what its function is.

Minus the hair and wind.

ROFL inserted my projection / experience of the matter.

Forward motion enhances cognition for me. I find it suppresses negativity. You might have a similar experience when driving. I note it when walking, running, bicycling, public transport like trains, and driving. The best contemplations and insights happen for me with relaxing music and forward motion.

I save the brain mincing tunes for housework :D

One issue I see is are you listening to music to contemplate or are you listening to music to listen to music?

I have a few different things I like to do while listening. Particularly if I am trying to enhance my visual or tactile experience of something.

But a lot of my music, especially recommendations, is consumed eyes closed at rest, reclined on my chaise. But I am a bit more old-school in that I listen to entire albums rather than songs. Unless it is just one track I was recommended. I tend to listen to most of an artist's catalogue of music prior to drawing a conclusion.

I find there are some songs and albums that really grab me from the outset. And others that take two/three spins before I begin to love it.

It is strange how that happens. I often observe the music I love instantly does not stand the time, as much as the music that grows into a love affair 🙂

No melancholic music enjoyers? Opeth - Damnation album, King Crimson - In The Court of the Crimson King album, most of Radiohead's - OK Computer album, every Porcupine Tree album, most of Pink Floyd's - Meddle album (only prog rock albums apparently). Nothing like sitting in the back of a car when it's raining and listening to that on headphones and looking out the window. Or crawling under the bed sheets when falling asleep.

Other than Jacob and Stone, I don't recognize literally any of these tracks ITT, I wonder if anyone else feels the same. Makes me wonder how much of my music tastes are driven by the music algorithms leading me down niche rabbit holes-genres. There is so much music out there so it's probably just as easy to have my playlists to be just as lonely and unique; it's impossible for anyone's song or even artist-list to be anywhere near 1-1

Hip hop is the highest consciousness music B|

Actually, hip hop without the lyrics (only beats and instruments) are some of the most firey and motivating music out there.

It’s the ’get shit done’ energy.

And as a dancer, it’s some of the most fun beats to kill.

For better or worse, I feel music adds emotional weight to my contemplation.

It becomes less dry.

The upside is that the extra emotional weight makes the insights really stick with you. The downside is emotional self-deception, i.e "I felt something really strong, therefore it must be true".

This.

@Natasha Tori Maru I am extremely picky and I don't like most music.

Sad music in dream house is not the same as sad music in disney, they are different life experiences, its a completly different frame and fantasy and metaphysics.

You're flattening music to say that it's just a random preference and it has nothing to do with identity. But it has everything to do with identity.

The average person that listens to rap has one hand on the steering wheel and they romanticize the entire lifestyle, and emotional state rap brings.

The music shows you how to feel about life. One frame/values /fantasy you could experience life from.

If you want to experience it from red just listen to rap.

When listening to Disney what is the experience and value system of life? it's that a child naïvity.

What a person prefers reality to be is there music preferences.

Music preference is a deeply judgemental process for a reason, were we strongly dislike (but can understand) other preferences. This disgust for most music that we all share is not just random preference. It's a massive identity game.

  • "Christmas morning" as a metaphysics is something like: reality is magical, abundant, and safe — wonder is the default state and good things are coming.
  • "New adventure" is slightly different — it's more like reality is vast, unknown, and exciting — you're about to step into something bigger than yourself.
  • "Mono no aware":  beauty dissolving, and my orientation is toward beauty emerging."
  • The Jurassic Park main theme — that moment where you see the dinosaurs for the first time. Reality just got bigger than you thought it was, and it's breathtaking, not threatening.
  • "The Raiders March" from Indiana Jones — pure forward momentum into the unknown with confidence that you'll handle whatever comes.
  • The Star Wars main theme — the most famous version of this feeling. You're nobody on a desert planet and suddenly the whole galaxy opens up.
  • "Adventures on Earth" from E.T. — the flying bicycle scene. You're being carried by something miraculous and simultaneously heading into the unknown. Receiving magic and exploring at the same time

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?
