Music Frame Discussion

I never try to fight with people about taste.  That's where you learn that everyone has their own unique perspective.  Everyone loves music, but they differ as to what music they like.  There's a lesson in that!  We can value the same thing and expect to be different too.  This is what I think musicians learn quicker than others do.

Right, I'm not arguing with him, I'm asking why this helps him contemplate.

Practically: find what works for you and use that as a tool.

But I want something deeper than that.

Why is that something that is rooted into his psyche and not mine.

And why does it not disrupt him and it disrupts mine?

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

My honest answer is that all of us have a finite perspective we attach to so that we can know what a finite perspective is.  So the Absolute contains all finite perspectives, including our own.

I enjoy Leo's music, but it does not hold my attention and there isn't enough mastery, composition or engineering in it to entertain my mind to sit through it without attending to something else like knitting, weaving, drawing etc.

That might be the point, Its "Brian Eno. He designed ambient music to be "as ignorable as it is interesting" that was his principle."

True true - which also says nothing about it being good or bad per se - just a matter of application and preference :)

Leo is just a drowsy hipster enthralled by his next safari expedition at heart. Leave the bald man and his mid-tempo (7/9) decibels alone.

Brian Eno is one of the greatest music producers of all time.  He's next level.

That’s very true! Let’s lead by example then: a new thread where we eternally terrorize Leo with superior taste. We should also hit his spiritual ego, how God is infinite, and how he’d find beauty in the filthiest of deathcore breakdowns. This ultimately proves his low to low-moderate (8/9) arousal level, mid-tempo (7/9), predictable harmonic complexity with no surprises, atmospheric sonic aesthetic, and soft electronic production (7/9) music touches nowhere near the expanse of infinite love. Bully him into submission. Kriya yoga with metal, guys?

@Carl-Richard Legs right through the meat mincer - nice and jelly like. Hill sprints in that ride though - for the quads to turn into cancerous tumors of muscle >.<

I have a large metal vocabulary but I won't share it here.  I've done it in the past on forums.

Surprises? What do you want, a monkey screaming in the middle of a song? :D

What would be cool is if someone could post a metal album that they think everyone might like or appreciate, that's accessible generally.  This is hard to do.

What is this?

@AtmanIsBrahman Here we go. ANOTHER ONE. Elitists all crawling out of the woodwork. Twisting spirituality to apply to their transcendent taste xD

Let me guess - ITS POETRY?

I actually adore hip-hop, though :)
