I got cerebral inflammation.

It eventually healed, but permanent nerve damage was done.

How did you realize you had cerebral inflammation? What were some of the symptoms of this condition?

It was very painful. My head was on fire for months. I also lost brain functions.

Naturalistic fallacy.

Thanks for putting words to something I've been noticing a lot recently within the psychedelic space. The appeal to nature is so odd to me, especially when you realize that everything in a lab is still "natural" from a wider perspective. Anything humans make in a lab is = the earth making it = the universe making it.

I think a lot of people over romanticize nature and shamanic traditions, completely forgetting that your brain does not care about the origin of a molecule.

If the psychedelics are working, then the conceptual boundary between natural and synthetic should completely dissolve.

There are cases where natural can be more safe (less potential for certain kinds of contamination, beneficial sister compounds, evolutionary adaptation to the overall natural cocktail rather than single-chemical loads), but when talking about toad venom, those differences might not matter as much. But on a more alternative note, maybe there is a morphogenetic field connection across toad venom ingestions that can be beneficial (you tap into a shamanic tradition and its collective mindspace).

The logic of only using naturally occurring psychedelics is absurd.

We don't survive on psychedelics in order to consider their origin.

Was there a single event on 5 Meo where you contribute to that inflammation? Like a high dose? Did you do something different on that trip? Or was it just a normal trip like every other trip?

Or was it heavy usage multiple times a week which gradually damaged your brain?

It wasn't gradual. But I did many days of 5-MeO.

Leo you're not the first person to talk about  their cerebral inflammation from 5 meo DMT. A facilitator named Mira Funk said the same thing.

Furthermore I've met people who had straight up bizarre, occult-type, negative reactions to it. This was in a somewhat cultish environment with a lot of hype going around, but still.
