@Jehovah increases Consider adding legumes (beans, soybeans, chickpeas, lentils, etc.) to your diet as well for vegan protein, these are among the healthiest foods cause they provide fermentable fiber. Also, nuts and seeds — pumpkin seeds for example have a high protein-to-fat ratio for a seed, as well as Zinc. You can also easily buy soybean products (e.g., soybean yogurt or milk — especially Calcium fortified alternatives, which can fully replace cow milk in terms of micronutrients) to add to your meals, which are protein rich.

Nowadays, protein intake is overrated. If you're not bodybuilding you can easily get away with 1.0g protein/kg of bodyweight, and some would even argue that's healthier than higher protein. Also, if you track your whole food intake you'll be surprised to see sources of protein you didn't expect. The 1.6g/kg of bodyweight only matters if you're exercising intensely (and want to optimize muscle building).

Hitting total caloric intake is more important than protein alone. And, if you're hitting you're caloric intake and eating legumes, whole grains, and seeds, it's almost impossible to stay below the 0.8g of protein/kg of bodyweight RDA or the individual amino acid targets. Of course if you decide to include some animal sources that's also fine — your personal choice.

The key is to focus on whole foods and avoid the empty macronutrients that come from junk and processed foods.

Sounds good. I will definitely give them a try. Thanks for the feedback; much appreciated PsychedelicEagle.

This is a very chaotic combo for a green smoothie; I don't think I would be able to stomach this texturally.

What does this even taste like?

Molded bongwater.

My go-to food ingredients are:

-Beans, lentils and bean pasta (for stews or just eating alongside veggies/rice, I also love roasted chickpeas)

-Mushrooms

-Tofu

-Avo

-Apple juice or oreos for low blood sugar

-Brown/wild Rice

-Broccoli

-Spinach

-On rotation: Bell pepper, bok choy, basil, carrots, green onion, micro greens, cauliflower (cauliflower gnocchi is fun to make) (oh and fruit, I go through phases of not liking sweet things, but: Apples + peanut butter, berries (esp frozen), orange, peach) (oh and kale. I used to avoid it because BUGS but I've learned that triple washed kale bags are usually good.)

-Zero carb tortillas (for being diabetic)

-Steel cut oats

-Dark chocolate

-Soy milk

-Wheat bread

-Cashew butter on occasion for pasta

-Herbs and lemon for seasoning (cumin, nutritional yeast, powdered onion, italian herbs, celery seeds)

Recently I've been obsessed with jack fruit

I am JELLY - even the lactaise pills that are supposed to help...

They do nothing. Fuckers.

My version of a carbonara is pinenuts, broc, roast pumpkin and olive oil (salt, pepper, touch of lemon + parsley). I sometimes add some goats cheese if I feel like flirty with danger ( I can tolerate verysmall amounts of cheese ).

FUCK fake cheese.

Enjoy!

It was good, but it wasn't as good as Amy's. Need to work on the cheese sauce.

Sounds delicious — I'mna try it someday.

I just ate an improvised tofu salad that turned out delicious.

Salty tofu with the sweetness from from fresh figs and oranges made it great.

Also, the basil from the tofu seasoning with the tomatoes and the pak choi matched well.
