Done Going To NA Meetings

21 posts in this topic

Today i went to a NA meeting. The 'leader' there didn't give me the opportunity to speak when it was my time. And she kept ignoring and dismissing that it was my time to speak.

I complained and then the other bots basically told me to not talk.

Inner sanction said 'Leave. Enough is enough'. And so i did.

I have been going to these meetings for 14 months. Now it's time to take care more of my survival agenda because me being selfless with these idiots, just ruins my health over time.

Key lessons and observations from NA:

Most are very selfish, conformist and closed minded.

They haven't contemplated much in their lives.

They treat the NA book like a christians treat the 'holy' bible.

They mostly care about survival.

They are not spiritual.

Many are heavily addicted to smoking or eating food. Can't stand smelling the stench of a cigarrete smoker sitting next to me.

You will not find an englightened person there.

They are dogmatic and closed-minded.

It's a good program to not die from addiction or loneliness.

But other than that it's not profound. You will not be taught about what Leo or Peter Ralston teach there.

My higher self seeks something deeper. Maybe i will start my own cult now. I don't know

xD

How do you even find a high consciousness group in person? It's almost impossible.

Few weeks ago, i attended Mormon church. They didn't let me speak on the mic becauss i am not a member yet. 9_9

I think it would be better for you if you stop watching Leo and any spiritual gurus. In your previous post you wrote that you are basically a bum. And watching spiritual and philosophical content won`t help you much in that phase of life. By way of your writing I see that you let yourself just be brainwashed by Leo`s concepts without thinking for yourself. I did this mistake too.

It would be better for you to go watch practical youtubers, how to get your shit together. Alex Hormozi is one of the best.

Yes- some people are dogmatic about the principles of the 12 steps. But also, NA and AA pull many people out of addiction and into recovery. You can’t reap any of the benefits by just criticizing.

Get a sponsor and work the steps. Then you’ll know if it’s really worth it or not. Taking care of Survival is not some evil, it’s important to healthy living.

To mods: this thread needs to be moved to the mental health discussion section of forum please

Hey man, I hope your situation improves. But lighten up on yourself. Your shit smells too. Stop being a whiny bitch all the time. It's OK to fuck up, everyone does it from time to time. Try to own the actions you take and their consequences.

If you want to do something about it, ask yourself: What can I do right now toward this goal? How can I conduct myself to create a new living situation for myself? Then go do it.

Best.

Are your needs of a "profound" nature? Or are they simple and basic? It seems you're putting the cart before the horse. You have to handle the fundamentals before you worry about the profound. Profound comes later.

Also, one of your biggest sticking points is in how you relate to the world. You are mad at the world for not noticing you and accepting you as you are, and you don't like the way they are and how they don't care, and you really, really wish they weren't like that - so you act out.

This is normal, but your response to cast them out and isolate yourself from them is an unhealthy one. You want to use "profundity" as a tool to place yourself above them, but this is like a band-aid for a gushing wound.

Both you and they are limited and everyone is doing the best they can with the information available at the time. The healthy response is to forgive them and yourself and work on uprooting the expectations and negativity sitting underneath it all.

Characters such as yourself can be very stabilizing forces in the world if they can get to the bottom of this error and learn to forgive themselves and the others.

People like you NEED the world to respond to them because you're oriented that way. That's actually a strength, but you need to figure out how to resolve cynicism, resentment, and forgiveness. I think you'd be one happy mother fucker, and probably quite successful with people if you would do this. And I think people would love you how you want to be loved if you'd build a bridge for them to do that.

Put all your shame, ego, and resentment away. Teachers like Leo and Ralston aren't the best for this. I think James Allen could do you wonders. Stick with him and only him for the next year or two. You could get started with this one:

Just listened to the first 5 mins. Gold!

- "It is of no avail to fret and fume and chafe at the chains which bind you; you must know why and how you are bound. "

- "You must cease to be a disobedient child in the school of experience and must begin to learn - with humility and patience - the lessons that are set for your development."

Also, you might check out "As a Man Thinketh".

Or stop watching and or listening to anyone, especially some online dudes on you tube that you never got to know in person.

Or even better, stop listening to strangers in an online forum aha.

Here are smart words that present my apparent identity but don't mean anything. At all.

Everything you judge others for - you also do yourself.

You don't claim it within your own behaviour because that would mean you judge and dislike yourself. And underneath it all - that is what this is about. You unconsciously dislike yourself.

You won't be able to see this, like you cannot see your eyeballs. But everyone else can.

Work on looking at what behaviours you dislike in others, in yourself. Accept them. Do not judge.

Learn discernment.

It is far easier to fool someone, than to convince them they have been fooled.

You dont understand this simulation is meant to humble you. The more you struggle it will keep beating you down until you break.

@Natasha Tori Maru Nope. I don't do everything i judge in others. (I used in the past).

You are just parroting what you heard from others.

@SQAAD No.

Sharing personally earned wisdom.

If you did not do this (judge, rather than discern) - you would not let it bother you so much. The simple fact it perturbs you is evidence of it.

You won't understand this until you realize it.

@Natasha Tori Maru No. Unconsciousness and ego bothers me because it has caused me a t r e m e n d o u s amount of suffering in the past from ignorant people. I have a natural aversion to all falsehoods now. I see them as a threat.

Ah okay - this is the issue.

The effect they have on you will not change until the belief they are a threat changes.

It is worth looking into if that is a belief or a truth.
