No longer caring about politics

18 posts in this topic

From this day forth, I will no longer care about politics!

I've come to the conclusion that for an average Joe as myself, caring about politics is detrimental to my personal development, peace of mind and my mental health.

The political epistemic ecosystem is rotten to the core and the zone has been flooded with so much shit by all political, parties, from the all sides of politics, that it is simply impossible to arrive at a clear picture about how things really stand.

I shall focus more on my personal development, I have only so much free time in a day, I can't use all my free time contemplating politics.

I will still engage in my civic right of voting, but I will no longer spend countless hours ruminating about politics.

When I will go to vote I will vote for the highest integrity, highest honesty, highest construct aware, highest spiral dynamics and ego development stage among all political parties and among all individual candidates.

I must focus on myself, 2025 politics is the equivalent of a septic tank. I will no longer engage in such low consciousness mental activities.

Thanks for letting us know.

Heard a good quote the other day: If you aren't at the table you are on the menu.

99% of politics is noise intentionally put into the social media to distract people from the real issue which is that a small powerful elite have gamed the system so that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.   The culture wars are entertainment meant to distract.  So, indeed it is a waste of time to indulge in the latest “important thing”.    The recent revelation that Chomsky was a close friend of Epstein woke me up and made me realize that the system is completely corrupt and managed from the top.  Where do you find the truth?  Is it even possible when it is hidden in a ton of garbage?

I've also completely given up on "staying informed", I see it as a wildly large distraction which provides little value to your personal life. For those who think this is selfish, i think you can actually do more good and provide more value by staying away from the political arena and focusing on your area of mastery, inspiration and philsophy. It's good to understand politics and the systems but keeping up with it serves no value to my life purpose.

I check major news stories once a month and other than that i stay away. It pulls the mind in different directions, and since quitting news and politcal updates, my mental health, focus, and happiness skyrocketed.

If you really take a break and come back you will clearly see that most of this stuff isn't even actually news, it's like a drama or TV show, none of it actually really is that important or significant.

After a certain point, once you've studied the field of politics and you've understood all of it, paying attention to it becomes counter-productive.

Yes, it is good to take a break from politics. Not forever, but for periods.

I subbed to some basic news channels on WhatsApp. In my minimum setup I get the most basic things in 1-2 mins a day.

I am also not in a position where it would be wise for me to contemplate politics all day but this is still a lot better then not listening to politics at all.

@JodistrictStop calling them elite your words matter. They are pedophiles with more money than you. They arent above you in terms of anything.

elite

/iˈlēt,āˈlēt/

noun

noun: elite; plural noun: elites

1.

a select group that is superior in terms of ability or qualities to the rest of a group or society.

Try this one

robber baron

/ˈräbər ˌberən,rɒbərˈbarən/

noun

noun: robber baron; plural noun: robber barons

a person who has become rich through ruthless and unscrupulous business practices (originally with reference to prominent US businessmen in the late 19th century).

They put these words out there and God hears you and says they are better than you.

Following all the Trump craziness and the online YouTube political sphere starts to take a toll on mental health. Probably need a break. It would be nice if politics got boring and sensible again

I think this time for me it will be forever, fear not I will still use what I know thus far on discussions on this forum if I deen that my input is productive. However I will stop contemplating on my head about politics! I spend almost all my free time in my head trying to analyze and find truth inside the realm of both global and local politics. I have 0 tolerance for human bullshit and contemplating politics became very exhausting for me because of how much shit the zone has been flooded with, thus making me confused and misinformed and therefore my contemplation efforts are redundant if I am always operating on misinformed assumptions. Also politics feel so dirty, so corrupt, I don't plan to ever enter politics because I am very soft, politics requires a very pig like character which i don't possess, and if I won't ever enter politics I feel that voting for the highest integrity and highest spiral dynamics stage candidate or party is enough input for me going forward in regards to politics. I have only so much time left to make something out of my life and I will not spend another second using my cognitive power trying to further understand something that is so dirty.

I don't really follow politics actively. I take the attitude that if there something I need to know it will come to me somehow. I follow certain channels and news occassionally and that's it.

I always felt that watching the news daily is kind of like coffee. And by that I mean kind of toxic (I don't drink coffee).

If You've ever read the 7 Habits of Highly Successful Ppl, one of the Habits is to not pay great attention to things outside of your control sphere, politics and things of this nature, elites and shit like this, yes know what is going on but don't let it drag you down, and don't be a daily digester for it, most of it and what You see on the news and around here is Drama, Drama makes People's hearts beat since they cannot beat it themselves, makes them feel alive for a second, they get addicted to it, so stay informed, don't really care about it since you can't influence it anyways..

The most important thing in Your life is that YOU are ALIVE! Focus on that!

I don't like political news, I like political science and political history. Lots of deep lessons there.

Yes, that is my possition too! Rather than mindlessly contemplating current world events or mindlessly debating on this forum with communists or with guys spreading  pro Russian or anti western narratives, I should rather spend that time reading the political books from your book list.

I shall use the limited time I have on this planet learning and reading, not arguing with people or contemplating about authoritarians and anti-west or pro-brics narratives.
