I don’t think it has to be conformity. Rap is basically a form of music that uses rhythm and cadences over an instrumental. 
 

A lot of what rappers say and do is conformity, I agree, but not the genre itself.

I think the point of this thread is to poke through the illusion. How else will we get to the higher stages? 

More specifically what I mean is: so that we don't 'fall in love' or fall for the illusion of what other people display to us. So we don't think 'that person is so special'.
