Power of Now.

"Being here and now". This phrase is being thrown around all the time, especially in new age circles.

Even one of local banks in my country has a slogan "here and now".

Hotels having check-in at 3:00pm and checkout at 11:00am.

“Our most valuable resource is not time, but rather it is consciousness itself. Consciousness is the basis for everything, and without it, there could be no time and no resource possible. It is only through consciousness and its cultivation that one’s passions, one’s focus, one’s curiosity, one’s time, and one’s capacity to love can be actualized and lived to the fullest.” - r0ckyreed

Dude, what do you expect it to be?

They need time to clean the rooms.

Yes but no hotels are questioning why they are setting it at that time. They are setting it at that time to conform to the hotels around them and to customer expectations. I don’t see a problem having a hotel that has 6pm check in and a 2pm checkout or a noon checkin and an 8am checkout. The standard isn’t questioned and is done without thought.

The same with 8am-5pm workdays. And working 5 days a week. We could very well change these times and work less days per week but businesses conform with each other because it’s the norm. Hotels and business in general is about extracting as much money out of the customer and worker as humanly possible.

I wouldn’t say this is conformity. Attraction is outside of your control. It is like saying being gay or straight is conformity.

This can be conformity if you are doing this without thought to fit in, but I feel like a lot of people do this not to fit in but rather to cut to the chase and save time. It is like saying “as soon as possible” is conformity. Asap is just the shorthand way of communication. You aren’t doing this to fit in. Same with ROI and others.

I mean, if you're into people from a different ethnicity, culture etc. your friend group will laugh at you and sometimes your family will disown you so out of conformity you date what it is within your culture and what is accepted. Beauty standards in the world are pale women which I personally don't find attractive.
