Is Sadguru's Inner Engineering Course worth it?

16 posts in this topic

Are the videos as good as Leo's or better?

Do you have to do the Kriya Yoga every day?

Does it work to make you feel better?

If you have to pay, its further from the truth ;)

I am but a reflection... a mirror... of you... of me... in a cosmic dance of separative... unity...

Shambhavi Mahamudra Kriya is potent as long as you hold the dogma. It's effective at first, then it quickly turns into a mundane exercise. Don't buy into their bliss claims.

I recommend doing some actual physical activity instead. Shambhavi isn't in any way sufficient.

I got initiated back in 2021, and it was a great experience. But the more I went into this rabbit hole, the more I saw it's true face, I quit the whole thing in a matter of months. Had nothing to do with Sadhguru ever again.

It has zero resemblance to my videos.

It's mostly just a gimmick to get you to sign up to his live programs.

It does not teach you yoga.

Not sure what you mean by "as long as you hold the dogma", but if it has to do with how you do the given exercise like what you visualize during the exercise or something like that - then there seem to be some evidence that it has effect on the "success" of the exercise.

You can make sense of that multiple ways , one way is to say that certain aspects of your mind and body can only be turned on and accessed through the imaginal space . Its not that the thing that you visualize has to exist, its that it can be instrumental (or it might be even necessary) to success and access and activation.

The metaphor I use to differentiate between imagination and the imaginal is VR and AR. When it comes to imaginal you put a scaffolding on the already existing world to help you to navigate and to notice things.

It can be also thought of as a liminal space between the conscious and unconscious (which I think Carl Jung popularized first)

Exactly.

You take inner course engineering to get access to the shambhavi mahamudra yoga teachings in person.

You can also take both together called inner engineering total.

I participated 2023 and for me it was life changing. Absolutely worth, I highly recommend sadghurus programs to everyone who is serious about getting spiritual gains.

@ryoko why do you think the initiation is so powerful?Probably because on the initiation you are more serious than at home alone.

Yes most people don't get the effects after initiation ever again.

What sadhguru offers is not just a practice. He's offering you an entire new life. Only you can know if it's something you want. It's not a question of whether or not it's worth it, it's whether or not it's your cup of tea. Although the first program is universally good for everyone imo.

What you mean by "as long as you hold the dogma alive"

The kriya itself is a mix of normal yoga practices, done in an order. The practice itself has nothing to do with bliss.

It's the belief that this practice can change stuff, and the philosophy musings combined by the theoretical lessons, it creates a certain delusional effect. He aims to keep it alive so you keep feeling blissful, or you think you should feel blissful. What he's aiming to do is trigger certain hormones by using a mix of beliefs, yoga and a whole community of sheeps.

As for the results, I can confirm they wear off the moment you start thinking on your own.

I took it from home, during COVID period.

It was powerful because of the hype. You expect you're doing something life changing thing. And your body just creates the results.

Once you see through it, it's all just a house of cards.

If you're looking to ehance your life in a way you desire, you'd have take conscious control of your life experience, your life energy, if it requires doing certain practices everyday (which in many systems it does, Sadhguru's yoga system included) then do it, it's worth it. But depends on how much you want it and willing to work for it.

Many people are too lazy or not that serious about it to go under any Yoga's systematic program for prolonged time.

The Inner Engineering Course is Excellent! The 7 classes are awesome as well as the practice learned at this level Shambhavi Mahamudra, its very effective, I felt a wave of Bliss after a couple of weeks practice.  You have to practice twice a day for a mundala or 40days after You learn it, then after that its once daily minimum...

The videos are great, and the Q&A videos attached to each of the 7 classes are very very good, he goes into more details than he does with the regular Youtube video's, its very worth the effort and price, I did both online and in person with Sadhguru, in person of course is the best option if its available to You!!
No risk, no reward, do it and then give it a good go for at least 6mths, You won't regret it!!

Some of the topics on the video's/classes:

Responsibility, how to get Your Free Will back

This Moment is Inevitable, basically a class and dissection of the art of Accepting What Is!

Present Moment Awareness

Sounds and Mantra

The Mind, how it works, its a miracle worker!

Food, what foods to eat and avoid while on the spiritual path.

Karma, what it is and how to use it and/or dissolve it..

and a few more topics too...

You are wrong on this one @Leo Gura

Shambhavi that you learn in Inner enginering put me into a state very similar to Ayahuasca during the initiation.

I do it daily and reach blissfull states everytime. It is very powerful.

I get what you mean by the videos in inner engineering, they can be experienced as extremely tedious and basic. I am not talking about them

The actual Kriya yoga that you learn in the end (That is now included in the program from the beginning)  is a very powerful energy process.

I know you haven't tried it because you thought it wasn't worth to buy the extension of the program ( Which you had to do back then)  and that is totall fair given your experience but that don't poo poo the Shambhavi untill you haven't experienced it.

It goes against everything you have thought us regarding that direct experience is king.

If I were you, which I am ~ I would give it another chanceB|
