I’m done with psychedelics (for now)

I’ve been doing psychedelics for a few years now and I believe I’ve grown tremendously through them. My personality has radically changed and my world has got so much bigger

The last trip I had I was on mushrooms. As with all my trips I never do them for recreation so usually they’re pretty intense. This last trip I had what felt like a warriors initiation. After the trip I just felt like Jesus I just want to settle now. I don’t want to have to keep pushing myself to take the hard road because it was an intense experience

So I’ve decided that I am ready to settle now into where I am right now. To be rather than to become. Might return to them later in life - 10-20 years down the line maybe

Anyone else had a similar feeling around this?

@Chadders how often do you take them and which psychedelics.

10 years is a long time. I had thoughts of maybe for a year after an intense LSD trip.

I stopped two years ago and I'm still processing the what I learned. I've also stopped for a while partly because I feel some respect or caution towards using it, but I intend to take small doses of LSD again soon.

@Chadders

I've stopped for over 3 years. Psychedelics need to be used carefully. I think it's part of the learning curve to jump in, get humbled (whole simultaneously getting a notable amount of strength), to then do a tactical retreat for however long is necessary, then psychedelic comeback when the time is right. It shouldn't be a terrifying nightmare...Leo said he got only a few bad trips. If you force it too much, it'll fuck you up for sure. The good news is, doing something like this shocks the ego into super intuition that something massive is here and it knows on some level.

Your not the only one with this experience.

I'm currently doing TRE therapy (which I was shocked to see how legit it is) although still early days with it. And sober somatic exercises like holotropic breath work. Just to process my past difficulties and stored energetic fuck ups. These kinds of sober practises are probably best to heal and integrate the trips that you've done to pave the way to your eventual psychedelic comeback if you feel the appropriate time does indeed come at some point in the future.

 That's what I'm doing anyway.
