What is the point of spiritual work in the end?

26 posts in this topic

Hello everyone! This is my first post on this forum and I'm quite excited!:D

Last weekend, I had a LSD trip and after it I started to question the whole spiritual work.

If the key in life is to awaken and keep awakening even more, what is the point in the end, if reality keeps unfolding and closing in a loop infinitely?

Don't get me wrong. I value spiritual work and it makes being here more enjoyable, but is this enlightment work, getting to the highest consciousness and maybe this sort of grind to self-actualize, meaningless in the end, if we just melt back to the universe and become another being later? Then all of this work should be done again?

In a way, I can find grinding spiritual work as an ego trip, if not being aware of it. But as long it is enjoyable, why not just do something, that makes you happy?

I know this can be just a phase of my ego dying and later on I get things better but I would like to hear what others have to say about this, who maybe know more than me on this forum.

Everybody is going to have their own “why”. I got into all this stuff because I was in a lot of emotional pain.

I agree with @Flowerfaeiry, everyone have their reasons and motivations to get into this work. My reason was pretty similar.

Lately I've been thinking that spiritual work is not exactly ideal for everyone at any point of their lives. In case it feels like a grind to you, it is an invitation to contemplate whether it is what you truly desire or not. Furthermore, whether the way you do it feels closest to you, or not, and why.

My spiritual phase helped me appreciate the simple things and the wonders of life and the world around us. It kept me positive and optimist even at my worst moments. I've sort of distanced myself from it for a while however, currently I participate more in grounding, earthly matters ;)

I wanted the truth and nothing but.........so I just kept seeking and seeking and seeking.......then without warning, the seeker died or rather was realized to have never been real!

Absolutely nothing was achieved lol

@Riccurdo

What's happening is that Consciousness can penetrate itself ever deeper. Awakening to the many aspects of your whole Being is the only thing the Universe does. Spiritual work shouldn't be confused with direct sex with Truth and Reality. Being conscious of the true nature of reality is the real spirituality. Being more and more conscious is the only game in spirituality worth playing. Consciously wanting to explore more and higher states of consciousness is the only thing that makes my dick hard.

Part of the process of God realization. More concisely, realizing you are or are creating infinity.

2 thoughts:

  • Personal level:  To learn not to avoid any moment, task, experience or feeling - to erase internal friction / resistance. To learn to care for myself first and foremost (the mind, moreso the meatbag) with the intention to give this energy back out. If I give to myself in alignment with my personal truth, I give unto others the energy and love to give back to everyone, or thing, I come to interact with. Giving out has always, always been returned. Amplified. This has been my process thus far. Elevating myself & others. To control and hone my thoughts to focus on this intention on any level - be it work, family, friends, or users on this forum :) Mind, emotions and body all as one.
  • Collective level: As a way for consciousness to harvest experience & data through expression of itself in the material domain. 'The Collective' desires to learn about itself and how it can manipulate the lower energies to elevate itself as a whole. To alter its state. On this plane, where things are defined, and we all inhabit a body, we are to learn to create. Born to create. We use matter & energy. Unified consciousness ie God consciousness/Absolute etc has no unknowns, no surprises. It marvels, revels and takes joy in humanities ability to create. Have surprises. Our emotions and reactions are priceless, as the great unified consciousness cannot experience this. We all partake of Gods joy and wonder when we have an experience!

And the most delightful part? When you have an experience with pure love intention behind it - you get to channel that absolute God consciousness right through your very being, as God wants to share and feel through YOU. You will be alight with pure energy, it flows through you, it is you. It animates the trees and grass, the walls, the stinky sponge you haven't thrown out... the wheels on a car, the chocolate wrapper on your table. Pulsing light energy pumping like blood on fire through everything around you!

And you can feel this with no substances - this awakening - 'God filling you up', simply through actions of love.

Spiritualities goal toward awakening is simply when there is nothing left but love within you. Burn all the rest away.

My experience.

My experience.

Deal with the issue now, on your terms, in your control. Else, the issue will deal with you, in ways you won't appreciate, and cannot control.

1 Because not doing any spiritual work and letting yourself be carried away exclusively by the mundane is a recipe for disaster. Most people don't see this and project toward the future, toward a happiness that will arrive when X,  then, at some point they reach hell.

2 Because you want total openness to reality, to what existence is, without any subterfuge or barrier. It's a necessity, a process that begins and never stops for a single minute. A human evolutionary movement, like many others.

Happiness and Enjoyment of your Life! :x Spiritual work, psychedelics, meditation retreats - all enhance your ability to appreciate the beauty of your experience more and more. That’s really it! What else could it be?

The more you understand reality, the more you can navigate it, absorb it, and use it to enrich your life and your limited time here. Whether you choose to use that understanding to help others, to enjoy yourself, to be playful and happy, or all of the above – that’s entirely up to you!

Purifying your mental state, gaining clarity, self-love, and confidence. Honestly, it’s a beautiful path – one of the most humane and fulfilling fields there is! :)

Precisely because everything feels so "meaningless" - because nothing really seems to "matter" in any ultimate sense - the best thing you can do is just enjoy your time here as much as possible. You're a temporary carbon-based lifeform on a floating rock, and there aren’t many other fields that genuinely help you appreciate the moment and the experience of being alive like spirituality does.

The only real caution with spiritual work is getting too deep into it before your material life is in order. Like it or not, we still have to deal with money, health, safety, and all the basics. So I usually suggest people get that stuff sorted first, because no amount of psychedelics, meditation, obscure yoga practices, or breathwork will make your rent magically disappear.

But once you’ve got the essentials handled - or at least have a plan and are working on it - adding spirituality and self-development is incredibly powerful. It's one of the few paths that actually aims to deepen your awareness and increase your ability to find beauty in simple things, instead of chasing material wealth, luxury, or the scarcity mindset that dominates modern life.

Think about how it feels when someone you love dies. Losing a loved one can feel like a small preview of death itself. In those moments, what do you wish you had done more of? You probably just wish you had spent more time with them, appreciated them more, really understood and loved them deeply.

It’s the same with your life and this earth. You’d probably wish you had found more joy, more love, more happiness. That you had opened up more, understood, and expressed yourself more. That you had seen more of the world, more beauty, in whatever way felt true to you. It might sound wishy-washy on the surface, but if you sit with it, you’ll feel the truth of it yourself. And, don’t just take my word for it - actually contemplate it! Death - or even just contemplating it - can offer a powerful clarity about what truly matters. It gives you a glimpse of how you might feel when your own time comes, and that awareness can guide you toward living more fully and not wasting it.

The tricky part - and this applies to almost everyone, myself included - is that even when we know all of this on a conceptual level, actually feeling it is a whole different story. Truly stepping into a state of appreciation and gratitude is hard. It's not just a mindset shift, it's a full shift in consciousness. Like Leo said in his recent post on “Change of States". No matter how much I or anyone else tells you, “Be happy,” or “You could die at any moment, be grateful,” it’s still incredibly hard to feel that truth deeply and consistently. That’s exactly why spirituality exists. It’s a field that recognized this problem - that we live in different states and gradients of consciousness - and it began to study it almost like a form of science. It asks: What actually works? What techniques genuinely help people live in a more elevated, present, and appreciative state?

Just like studying business, sales, or finance can help you solve money problems, studying spirituality can help you solve existential ones - the numbness, the emptiness, the disconnection from life. It helps you feel more, see more, and appreciate more. That, to me, is deeply meaningful - and absolutely worth the time and effort!

To turn 'yourself' off so it dosent bother you when you die. Become a void in your mind so when you die you instantly respawn. Becoming a void in your mind also lets you live this dream without limits of self.
