Well I watched Double Down by Neil Breen.

I would love if he turned out to be a secret genius. Concocted this character of a well-meaning, but delusional director who...tried.

If so, I hope he takes the secret to his grave. Keep everyone guessing.

Funny enough he lives near me. I recognize the desert envirnoments he shot Double Down in. Some scenes there from Red Rock state park. I could drive to the exact location from memory.

This would be such a cool idea for a film itself.

A Neil Breen type cult director has been sparking debate about whether he's a genius or complete hack. Some film students investigate his life. In the end, they uncover evidence that could reveal the truth, but they choose to destroy and preserve the mystery. The audience never knows.

Any aspiring filmmakers reading this want to make it happen?

Yes, but on the other side of this Leo does always say 'do not trust what I say, verify it all for yourself'

Which is why I think many of his #blog posts are aimed at contemplation to prompt a realization of truth.

Just throwing truth down and expecting it to be taken at face value is never worth as much as a true self-made realization. I for one do not find any external truth very impactful - only the truth I reveal for myself. Teachers such as Leo come into it when they prompt a line of enquiry that assists in leading you there.
