Good, good. Keep thinking new ideas.

I wrote you a new post on my thread about the political compass, please read it and try to counter the argument I made there.

@Leo Gura I can see where each of the example you gave about green health kinda makes sense, except for demonization of sugar, do you mean to point at the function of just how everything on the list became a buzz thing that people started to accept without any thinking? Because thats the common denominator between all the things you list that I can see.

conformity is thinking or taking action blindly based on buzz without reflecting on the belief in solitude, away form outside influences. That’s my contemplation of what conformity is.

I dare you guys to invent one new idea in your mind that no one has ever thought before.

Just so you see what true original thinking is.

Notice how little originality is in your mind.

I had the idea once of "convergent inventions", where different human groups completely detached from each other geographically and culturally invent the exact same things, like the spear, the bow, fires, etc. as well as concepts like slavery, war, money, kingship, etc. Things that are so common sense that you don't need cross pollination to spread the idea.

I don't think it is particularly groundbreaking or that original, but I've never heard of something like this before from anyone else.

Sugar has been way over-demonized in the Green health world. People talk about it like poison.

Moderate sugar is fine.

See, even when I say that, someone reading that will be shocked. "But Leo! How could you?! I thought you were so conscious! I am so dissappointed in you! Leo is a fraud!"

@Leo Gura My idea is that there has to be a middle of the road kind of position to some of what can be labeled as conformity, for example using English as the most common language to communicate is conformity, but then you have to start somewhere to solve the problem before you can chose not to conform. Thats why I said what I think you are pointing at is more abstractly the function of how each thing in the list becomes a buzz that people follow blindly and then it becomes a given, not the validity of the thing itself.

Do you understand that the words "based", "chad", "boomer", "zoomer", "rizz" are only used out of conformity? That's the only reason you know those words.

Anyways. You guys contemplate conformity more. I am not happy seeing all this confusion over such easy idea.

Leo you're continuously suprised by how underdeveloped your audience is

Of course society requires certain basic conformist building blocks to function. Language is one example. Laws against murder and rape is another.

That is fine. That's not the problematic kind of conformity.

Make sure you guys understand that I am NOT asking you to demonize basic social building blocks when I speak of conformity.

I am half-expecting someone to take a shit on the dinner table and then say, "But Leo said to not be conformist!"

One of the checks I run through my head with the conformity topic - is this performative to the social domain? Is this an attempt to communicate status or hierarchy? Usually you'll be able to discern the context of the topic that way.

Conformity in the existential sense is very different.

Create a movie "world" with linear time where you can freely skip to different POVs. No matter the combination, it ends up as an interesting movie. You can rewatch it and take different POVs as well so you get many different perspectives.

Kind of like Sims in a way when I think about it but optimized to create an actually interesting plot all around. And I think of 2D instead of 3D.

I think English is a bad choice in the context of this argument. I meant to say I learned English as a second language and realized that I could have learned any other language and would have probably been able to see the world from a totally different perspective. But still there is a good case for why learning English is a great thing after all. Same as visiting some trendy places or buying some kind of shoes based on an expert recommendation, plus other things that you can temporarily confirm to until you realize another alternative.
The problem with conformity is when it turns to blind conformity that is unquestionable and also because it weakens one's ability to think freely  and discover a better alternative or even the possibility of that existing.

What I'm ultimately saying is that if not enough context is given you sacrifice shifting the focus form the middle of the road way of thinking about these things, which is probably at the end what you meant to begin with.

Dude, are you for real??

You guys have the weirdest twisted notions of what conformity is.

I don't even know what to say to you.

I talked about Conformity for 4 fucking hours, gave you 500 examples, multiple blog posts, and apparently still no one gets it.

LMFAOOOOO

My interpretation of Elton John is he has no interest in marrying a woman but because of social pressures he had to adapt

There are people in Islam forced to marry when they have no interest in marriage. This is what I'm pointing to.

It could be Elton John didn't know he was gay and he married a woman, in that case then it's pretty straightforward conformity.

It could be, he knew he was gay, and he loved the woman and wanted to marry her, he is so brainwashed and conformist that he still marries a woman. The conformity is so deep that a gay man is marrying a woman.

There's another level to conformity that you're not talking about.

Telling me that genetics is not conformity is nonsense. It's hardcoded conformity unchangeable unavoidable.

This whole experience was designed by things completely out of my control, and I am conformed to. Shaped to, formed to.

Conformity is what your shaped by, if you don't want to define it that way no problem.

Wearing a Waldo costume in an unconforming way, because your conscious of conformity is still another version of conformity because you're exposed to Halloween, you would never wear a Waldo costume if you knew nothing about Halloween.

You would never use English if you're not exposed to English, we have conformed to English so hard there's no ability to do anything else. Most people cannot think without language, though it's possible. But it's so rooted into our experience.

CONFORMING TO THE SYSTEM OF ENGLISH LMFAOOOO

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

Story of my life. I wish someone would have warned me properly about how much suffering real spiritual work causes before I started the journey. The opposite was sold actually.

Either ways I would have probably done this work anyways but just having proper expectations would have made this journey much more smoother.
