  1. Hi. I wonder if somebody here came across some legit sources talking about shock treatment for depression. My friend is about to try it due to very bad depression and he says it is his last chance to deal with that problem, tried meds ect. He has very poor diet, maybe I should start cooking for him He haven't tried physiotherapy yet and I want to persuade him, but I worry he will still try shock treatment.
  2. I've been listening to Jimmy for the past couple of days non-stop, I love his sense of humor. And suddenly I see that: Almost two hours of seriously important conversation. I am in awe. I want to share this to inspire, it definitely inspired me. Like an Easter Holidays present. The title is so misleading! "I didn’t make any decision in my life until I was about 25, I did the best next thing, so: when you’re 16 you decide, you can get a job or stay at school, the best thing to do is to stay at school, and the best thing to do is to pass those exams and try to go to the best university you can think of, so I went to Cambridge, I got the best degree I could, and in the end of that you get the best job that you could. So far I’ve not made any decisions, it’s been what’s presented to you and the next step, a very well-worn path. So then, the idea of being kind of in your mid-20s and going: Well, hang on, whose life am I leading? Where’s this going? And you can see, because it’s such a well-worn path, you can see into the future and go, well, actually I know exactly when I’m going to be in ten years time, in five years time, in 15 years time, but whatever the time period is by looking at someone ahead of you on that road and then go, no, I don’t want that. I want life to be an adventure. I want to find purpose, I want to find something special for me. I don’t think there is anything special about me, I don’t think anything magical happened, I think I was exposed to, uh, for want of a better phrase, self-help, NLP and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy at the right age, when I was ready to go: Right, that’s for me. I’m going to be like that person. So, something as simple as personality test, something as diverting as, it’s like kind of a rationalist horoscope, it’s such a powerful thing because, the more you get to know yourself through doing that stuff, the better able you are to go: Right, what’s my edge, what am I bringing to the party in life, what do I do better than anyone else, what am I going to devote my life to, because you make your own luck. It’s your edge, what you do best (...)not comparing to others, but looking at yourself (...) your hard work plus time, that’s your luck. We’re all of us just buying lottery tickets, nothing’s guaranteed, but if you want it to kind of pay off you’re going: Right, if I put everything into this, it’s gonna pay out eventually. Success comes later, but I think being all in, when you find it being all in is quite important. I gave up alcohol in my mid 20’s. In my opinion the opposite of addiction isn’t sobriety, it’s purpose, pursuing something meaningful." ~ Jimmy Hope you'll enjoy!

  4. Thank you very much for your answers. I have been thinking about this topic for a long time. From what I understood I should take the test and consult results with a doctor. I hope to get vaccinated. I will pay special attention to detox before and after vaccination.
  5. I'm looking for information about MTHFR mutations and Covid Vaccine. I most likely have this mutation and the test is terribly expensive and even after seeing the results, I don't know if they are relevant to the vaccine. As far and I've understood from what I've read on this forum is that these mutations were considered a health condition for which vaccines are not being recommended. But that was a post from one year ago, now I see that we don't have to worry about it. I'm not sure if I understood correctly, maybe someone would be able to share some knowledge on this topic. I would really appreciate your help! Not if it hurts your brain. You can't assume everyone is the same. It depends on your health condition.

I am really worried about the effect her behavior will have on my parents, as they are both very sensitive and yielding. I have to give them some technique to deal with grandma. I have started looking for a solution in the Behaviorism. I found one useful thing: Set boundaries by responding to positive behavior and ignore, to the extent possible, bad behaviors (link to the page). Recently, I've realized that old people have trouble thinking, but they still react, like any other human, on that animal level
  8. @Nahm Physically no. She came close to grabbing the object and throwing it at me, but backed away. This is an older person who is almost impossible to logically explain not to do/say something. I'm wondering if there are proven ways to talk to/cope with such people, in order to make life with them bearable.
  9. My 90 year old grandmother has very severe neurosis and slowly stops thinking logically, she is hurting other family members. My grandparents are over 90 and will soon be living with my parents. I'm looking for a solution to described situation because I assume that such cases are common and surely there Must be some way to deal with such a negative person who is no longer able to process thoughts in a logical way and is hurting her loved ones. All her life she could say anything, all the negative things and insult everyone and they would just nod their heads. My family taught her that she can do and say anything she wants, because she is an old woman. She talks constantly, like the radio, even when she is alone. Most of the time she complains and says offensive things about the world and other people. My grandparents slowly started moving to my parents' place in the village and on one visit I talked to my grandmother. She threatened, as it turned out jokingly, to carry my parents' cat into a ditch (she hates idea of living with a cat). I said she couldn't do it, and then I wanted to explain that I didn't know it was a joke (a few days earlier she was able to chase the cat out with a rag on the upper floor). She flew into a full blown RAGE, called me a b**ch (?!), and came close to throwing items off the table at me. She isn't talking to me for a month now. I was the first family member besides my grandfather to speak when she no longer wanted me to speak. And she went crazy. The level of aggression I saw in my grandmother at our conversation was so shockingly high that I realized the seriousness of the situation. I wonder if there are professionals who deal with just such cases, where you have to help an elderly person and at the same time defend yourself from verbal attacks. If any of you have any sources of knowledge on this I would be very grateful if you share.

For me it's about the time when I fall asleep. If I fall asleep for a couple of days (a week - two weeks) in a row at 10pm - I wake up at 6am with no alarm clock and no huge body ache. (8h sleep) Then I need to remember to go to sleep at 10pm everyday to feel good and wake up early and happy If I fall asleep at 11pm - I wake up at 8am with no alarm clock and no huge body ache. (9h sleep) If I fall asleep at 00:00 - I wake up at 10am with no alarm clock and no huge body ache. (10h sleep.) It's like we have best quality resting hours between 10pm and 00:00. How to fall asleep at 10pm? My best way to do this is to force myself to get up at 6 am for a week and see the daylight outside the window as I wake up (it's important). After couple of days you're so tired you fall asleep at 10pm and then you keep your routine up
  12. Magnesium chloride flakes for foot soaks in warm water. :)) Super helpful when you already have menstrual cramps. Body absorbs it really really fast that way.
