  1. Is pain the only way to freedom?
Is pain the only way to freedom?
Ego has co-opted the pleasure/pain mechanism. It uses those two signals to maintain its power and stay alive.
"Pain" is just anything which violates the ego's self-defined boundary. So, of course the process of dissolving all boundaries is not likely to be labeled as "pleasant" by the ego.

  2. Letting go of ideals
    Letting go of ideals
Yes, I will release a video about this in the future. Ideals are a double-edged sword. They are necessary and at the same time create suffering and delusion.
All ideals must ultimately be transcended, but not too soon. They are like training wheels.

  3. Strange loop
    Strange loop
@K VIL If you actually stare long enough at that tree with one-pointed focus, you will become it.
It is not technically true that you need to turn inward because ultimately there is no in or out. That duality collapses.

  4. A Zen Monk points to The Absolute / God
A Zen Monk points to The Absolute / God
@UDT No, it is not an experience. It is Infinity.
You will not understand unless you try it.
There is no such thing as experience. There is only Infinity. Infinity is not a belief or an interpretation of an experience as you're assuming.

  5. A Zen Monk points to The Absolute / God
A Zen Monk points to The Absolute / God
@GomeGabrielDavid What you think of as "experience" will get recontextualized as Infinity/God.
    It's a matter of context.

  6. What comes after capitalism?
    What comes after capitalism?
Capitalism vs communism is a red herring, similar to science vs religion.
The issue isn't the content of the beliefs, it's ideology itself. Ideology of any kind, be it capitalist, communist, rationalist, scientific, or spiritual will not work. What's required is genuine openmindedness, unbiased empirical experimentation, love, consciousness, holism, equality, and concern for the truth.
The reason that communism fails is actually the same reason capitalism fails: they are both dogmatic, just different styles of dogma.
If you want a healthy community, you cannot be ideological about government or economics. You must ACTUALLY empirically test for what works, not dictate what you think will work. No body really knows what the right balance is. Government is too complex to predict. It needs to be found empirically. But by being ideological people do not let the empirical tests be run. They are prejudging the experiment.
For example, ideally we'd run an experiment about which election system would produce the most democratic results. But of course this kind of test would never be allowed.
Or, for example, ideally we'd run an experiment to determine just how much regulation the banking industry needs. But of course this will never be allowed.
The issue is that egos in power will never want to relinquish their power once they have it. Society is fundamentally designed from the top down to be unequal. The ego will simply adopt whatever ideology best serves its agenda, be it religious, capitalist, communist, rationalist, secular, etc.
The problem is not capitalism or communism, the problem is ego.

  7. I can't talk to anyone about Truth/anything Leo shares with us
I can't talk to anyone about Truth/anything Leo shares with us
Don't worry too much about just "completing the game" as in completing life. Having a blissful world and that's it. Follow your passion instead and that will also be the best for others even if it might seem selfish at first. You can't help everyone but you can still enjoy life. If you're feeling down, keep meditating and it will pass.

  8. I can't talk to anyone about Truth/anything Leo shares with us
I can't talk to anyone about Truth/anything Leo shares with us
of course when you refer to people (even unspoken) as "unconscious", "trapped in mind patterns", "lost" they're going to be offended. It's that spiritual arrogance thats holding you back. look at how unconscious and trapped you are.
the communication obstacle is not in the people, its in your words. how you choose to say what you want to convey is everything. i also had difficulties with that, but now i know better what to say and how.

  9. What lessons did you learn from Wild Wild Country?
What lessons did you learn from Wild Wild Country?
I learned that it is really easy to get corrupted. That no matter how good you think the cause is, sometimes you just have to step back, retreat and be patient. It is not always worth it. Respect others and neighbours even if they dont always respect you , or are fearful of you. That it is possible to gather an amazing group of people in one place, but it needs to be done in intervals, and you need enough time to adjust. You cant just take over in somebody else's territory and claim it  without resistant. It should be done with respect and in in time, so others can adjust.

  10. How does being infinite make anyone less afraid of death?
How does being infinite make anyone less afraid of death?
@DMM710 Consciousness doesn't shut off. Consciousness is nothing. It was never turned on as you currently assume. You are already dead. You just think you're alive.
This is not going to make sense without awakening.
When you realize that death is already what you are, how can you fear it?

  11. Are Yoga's Claims Credible?
    Are Yoga's Claims Credible?
Of course they do. Just not the mainstream westernized Buddhists you hear about.
The Dalai Lama has a personal oracle as one of his advisors. Sadhguru actively tells his advanced yogis not to practice siddhis or perform healings or miracles because it would create a PR nightmare for his organization.
Many enlightened masters have such abilities but will not tell you about them because you would not understand, and because it will distract you from working on your awakening.
You have to understand, people get killed for talking or exhibiting such abilities. There is a huge stigma against witchcraft, even today. Look at how Osho's commune was erradicated. That's what will happen to you when start flaunting spirituality around ignorant people.
Sadhguru was accused of murdering his wife after her supposed mahasamadhi. He was also accused of holding people captive and brainwashing them by parents who didn't understand what yoga is.
Almost every spiritual tradition has deep esoteric teachings which are kept secret and never penetrates mainstream culture because mainstream culture is so closedminded and materialisitic.
These are very advanced things which are not discussed with closedminded people.
I am not saying everything they claim is true, but you'd be surprised how much truth there is in esoteric teachings.
Yogananda's biography is very fantastical. It's not a good resource for skeptical rationalist western minds. For you to understand the things he talks about requires someone like me to break it down into a western anatyical paradigm. Which takes a lot of work and people still don't buy it.
If you really care about understanding siddhis and paranormal abilities, you must spent years practicing them. The proof is in practices.
Spend 5 years doing hardcore yoga and then you'll have a better understanding of the possibilites here.
Kriya yoga's primary intention is unlocking your chakras and liberation, not siddhis. So don't get stuck on all the fantasical stuff. Focus on awakening.
P.S. The deepest truth is so incredible, it will kill you.

  12. Is it possible to master charisma?
Is it possible to master charisma?
You don't need to be an extrovert to be charismatic. There's this divide that we have in our minds of "Oh, I'm an extrovert, so I can't be like this." or "Oh, I'm an introvert, so I'm not comfortable when doing this."
If you want to be a well balanced human, you'll realize you're not a label, and that you're comfortable in certain areas that others might be in and vice versa.
Quiet/low energy/calm people can be charismatic, because they can be perceptive and good listeners. Not everyone wants to be around a comedian or class clown. Those people wear on you after a while. Your job is not to entertain people, but to build connections.

  13. Is it possible to master charisma?
Is it possible to master charisma?
Trying to be charismatic is why someone is not charismatic...charisma imo is when you are 100% authentic expresion of yourself and you dont change for anyone because people are constantly trying to control how you think feel and act and if you submit to their way of thinking acting etc. you lose your authentic expression..

  14. Is it possible to master charisma?
Is it possible to master charisma?
    @egoless
It is. The idea that you can’t be charismatic even if you’re an “introvert” is an excuse.
Read The Charisma Myth by Olivia Fox Cabane. A lot of charisma is actually energetically based, which is why there are so many different types of people who are all charismatic.

  15. Never been able to release anything with Sedona
Never been able to release anything with Sedona
Sounds like you missing the key idea: you create all your emotions. So you can drop it any time. Your emotions are just a game you play for which you need to start taking responsibility.
You need to understand this before Sedona will work for you.
You can let go of any emotion within a second. Try imagining this for starters. Try imaging that you are a Greek philosopher, who just drops any emotion he/she wants through reason alone.

  16. Never been able to release anything with Sedona
Never been able to release anything with Sedona
@Lynnel The present moment is all there ever is.
Don't buy into the idea that emotions are locked in the body too much. This is disempowering.
Rather, you want to become conscious that at every moment your emotions are arising as a self-manipulation. You emote to fulfill the needs of the ego, and you have the ability to cut the shit and realize: "Oh, I'm angry because my ego wants X. Oh... That's just a mental trick. Let me just be peaceful."
That won't always work, but the more conscious you become, the more you'll see how emotions are just a ruse your mind is playing on you. And you can stop that game any time just by becoming conscious of the fact that it is a game.
The problem is: most people are not aware (in the moment) that an emotion is just a game. They take the emotion seriously because they can't even imagine an alternative.
Next time you experience a very negative emotion, try to notice it is just a game. And see what happens.
For this to really start working, you have become aware of your self-agenda and be willing to face the fear of surrendering it. Most people are too selfish to do that.
The only reason emotions have any sway over you is because you want to survive. So the counter-intuitive move here is: surrender the need survive.

  17. So... are all religions and philosophical beliefs "correct"?
So... are all religions and philosophical beliefs "correct"?
    Abstractions based off abstractions.
A result of the evolutionary nature of thought.
Also the product of the demands for psychological security/ego permanence.

  18. So... are all religions and philosophical beliefs "correct"?
So... are all religions and philosophical beliefs "correct"?
They are correct in the sense that they are what people need to listen according to their spiritual level.
But, in my opinion all scriptures are correct, the problem is the interpretation that people give to them.

  19. Can your IQ be increased? If so, how?
Can your IQ be increased? If so, how?
Open your 3rd eye, correct nutrition/lifestyle habits and introduce adaptogenic herbs and medicinal mushrooms, take ormus ect... You can do anything your mind desires if the projector is clean and active.

  20. Help... Feeling like complete TOTAL SHIT (Emotional Release)
Help... Feeling like complete TOTAL SHIT (Emotional Release)
Has this only been happening for 2 weeks, or is depression and anger something you've faced habitually for years?
If for years, then that's a deep-seated issue which needs to contemplated deeply. Meditation alone probably won't be enough.
Yoga can help a lot. Those kinds of emotions usually stem from blocked chakras, which yoga will open and meditation won't.
If it's just a temporary thing (not habitual), that's spiritual purification, which is normal, so just weather the storm.

  21. Is Materialism a Good Beginner's Philosophy?
Is Materialism a Good Beginner's Philosophy?
Materialism is the default paradigm of the human mind in our present era and culture. Materialism really just stems from daulity, which the default OS of human beings across all cultures and times.
As one becomes more conscious, one moves towards nonduality.
The last step Chalmers is missing is transcending theoretical idealism to actualized nonduality, until one's nonduality becomes so profound that even the distinction between duality and nonduality falls away.

  22. How can anything be truly known?
How can anything be truly known?
@StephenK That's right, all knowledge is actually BEING.
There isn't even experience. There is only being.
The Absolute is beyond all language, knowledge, or logic.
But it is there! You are it.
Any further questions you ask is you staying stuck in the mind and failing to understand that being is incommunicable.
Therefore the only right next step is to shut your mouth and sit silently.

Story of Saint Paisios giving a glimpse of God
    @charkost That's called Shaktipat.
A fairly common siddhi (paranormal power) that mystics can develop.
Yes, it's possible. The problem is, do you really want to place your enlightenment in someone else's hands?
It is not going to create mastery within you any more than one hit of LSD will.

  24. Using my teenage years well (lots of free time)
Using my teenage years well (lots of free time)
Probably unpopular opinion: start doing Game (as in "pickup" but that word has a negative connotation). Check out RSD, learn social dynamics, and start going out, meeting people, meeting girls, and becoming very very social, outgoing and at ease. Start freeing yourself from social conditioning asap. All the meditation recommendations are to be expected on this forum but meditation will not do this or bring about real identity level change. I started spirituality at a similar age and ended up doing a lot of spiritual bypassing instead of going out into discomfort and having wild experiences. Mold your identity and skillset now, get wild memorable experiences while young, it will help so much later in life. I think most guys here sleep on pickup big time because nothing will shake up and show you your neuroses, emotional patterns, insecurities and limiting beliefs more plus the abilite to make friends wherever, go for what you want, be assertive and a leader, auhentic and expressive and to network will be of massive value in all stages of life. Enjoy

  25. Two Different Nirvikalpa Samadhis
    Two Different Nirvikalpa Samadhis
No, I was saying, how would know you've reached the highest stage of awakening?
The whole problem is, you can't know.
You might think you're at the highest, but you could be wrong.
I've experienced so many degrees of awakening at this point that I'm having to stop saying "This is it!" because as soon as I say that, the next week or month I find something deeper.
This is a very tricky issue because every awakening feels like it's the deepest and nothing could be deeper.
If you think you've reached the end, you're probably kidding yourself. There exist superhuman levels of consciousness which cannot even be conceived of by most ordinary meditators or enlightened teachers. There seem to be states of consciousness so great that they may not even be reachable through natural biological means. States so great that they could not be spoken of at all.
This is why spirituality becomes so contentious. It's very hard to compare the states of various people. Especially if you've never achieved those states yourself. The point is, you cannot make these comparisons while keyboard jockeying on this forum. The only way to really know is to become a fully enlightened master and see how far you are able to get. Otherwise, you've got no chance of figuring out what is "the end".
Everyone will of course tend to disagree about what "the end" is, because no one is going to admit, "I haven't reached the end." Consciousness also breeds arrogance.
This topic is beyond the scope of what most people here can fathom. It requires decades of careful study and hardcore practice. This is way beyond the realm of Neo-Advaita teachings or YT videos or experiencing no-self.
