  1. Don't donate
    All Personal Questions For Leo
I've never thought about retiring. My work is my life and vice versa. Even if I go live in a cabin in the woods until I die, I will still consider that my work.
I don't ever feel a need to donate money because I strive to make my life and my work my donation to the world.

  2. Letting Misk Bite
    Transcending physical pain
There are footages of Buddhist monks immolating themselves with fire, and they did not move a single muscle. That being said, for 99,99% of people, that's highly far-fetched. It would take MASSIVE amounts of training to accomplish something like that.
I think increasing one's tolerance to pain is doable, but to completely "transcend" it? Virtually impossible, imo.

Here's a concept I really like that can help you out with this: superconductor.
That is, if you are able to have zero resistance to what is happening--no matter how painful or uncomfortable it is--you'd theoretically not suffer.
Again, having zero resistance is very unrealistic. That would be just an ideal. I find that in my life, if I am able to resist less, that already helps me a lot get thought hard shit!
Leo has a great episode on this:

On the other hand, many people--especially the ascetics in India--get used to feeling pain. They sleep in beds of nail, keep their arms lifted 24/7, and do other kinds of extreme practices.
I experimented with that when I was doing Strong Determination Sittings. For instance, I'd go to a mountain that had many mosquitoes. I would let them bite me, and tolerate the pain. After a while, I'd get used to the discomfort and pain. But in reality, I wasn't more "conscious", I simply got desensitized. That's all. Nowadays, I don't see any value in doing things like this.
Osho talks a lot about this:
    I hope that helps!

  3. Good meditation pose
    Kriya Yoga Mega-Thread
    That's something particular to you.
Maybe try slotting Kriya into some other part of your daily routine. Like in the evening.
For long sits I have several different cushions on hand and a Zen-style Seiza meditation bench, and swap between them in between various Kriya exercises.
I find it too uncomfortable to sit for 1 hour cross-legged. It tends to cut off circulation in one of my legs, which distracts me from my yoga. The Seiza bench also creates much better spine alignment. But it still starts to get uncomfortable after about 1 hour. Still, far more comfortable than sitting cross-legged.
It's important to find a sitting position which you can be in for 1 hour+. Because your sets will get that long. So try various ways until you find something which you're comfortable with.
I am still experimenting with the best sitting postures for a 1h 20 min set. It's quite challenging to sit that long and then still be able to concentration in the last 10 minutes (where concentration is most important).
That's something particular to you. That's not normal.

  4. Good advice on kits
Taking LSD & DMT for the first time at 16. Do I need a sitter?
For LSD the Hofmann reagent would usually be a secondary test you'd use after testing with Ehrlich. Mind you the Ehrlich alone should be sufficient, you'd use the Hofmann test after just to be thorough. And yes, Hofmann has a specific reaction to DMT, but so does the Ehrlich reagent so I'm not entirely certain if one is superior to the other. But to answer your question in a simple way, no you don't really need to test the substance with more than one reagent.

At his age his brainwaves throughout the day predominate mostly at the mid beta range(they tend to correlate to age on a 1hz to 1 year ratio). So his ego is fairly concrete, almost as much as a 20 year old. If he were very young, like say 6 years old. Then his ordinary state of consciousness would predominately fall in mid to upper Theta(about 6hz). And because of the highly suggestive state of awareness of Theta, it seems logical to anticipate that such an individual would be at greater risk of developing HPPD. Therefore I'll stipulate that what you're saying is hypothetically possible if unlikely.  And yes, ideally he should probably wait until he's older just to ere on the side of caution. But frankly I fail to see any significant difference between him and say an 18 year old that would warrant such precautions. And perhaps more importantly, he's already endeavored to study these matters to have become knowledgeable about the substances and home test kits commonly used. And he's even acquired the substances themselves. The point I'm making is his actions are consistent with someone who is determined to do these substances regardless of what you or anyone else tells him. So if you want to dissuade him, at the very least you'll need as much assistance as possible. The problem is(for you), that you haven't yet convinced me your argument is solid enough to warrant such behaviour from me.

I don't mean to pry, but I'd like to hear you expound on this. Because without specifics I'm forced to speculate that you did LSD at his age(or at an age comparable to his) and it caused HPPD in you. The issue with this is I don't know what dose you took, or if the substance you did even truly was LSD unless you give me details. And so I can't hardly draw conclusions on the basis of such speculations. And so the only thing I can say that's of value here is that HPPD is a risk an individual at any age is taking whenever they do hallucinogens which modify visual perception greatly(LSD and DMT are in that basket of drugs). And the degree of risk is directly proportional to dose size. At a microdose it's nearly impossible. But at a mega dose in the range of around 1000 micrograms plus it becomes very likely to occur. Even in individuals not predisposed to the condition.

I advise you not to motherhen him to death, it's very likely to backfire. That last paragraph is logically sound, but I'm uncertain if it'll do any good.

  5. why i should trip?
Taking LSD & DMT for the first time at 16. Do I need a sitter?
99% of 30-year-olds don't have it either. on the contrary, they have been accumulating shit of all kinds and the chances of having a traumatic trip are greater. and if it is someone of 50, the risk multiplies. as he says, building a life based on truth and not survival is better than building a life based on survival and then deconstructing it. What can undermine your motivation to survive? I do not believe it.

  6. Different stages and psychedelics
Does each stage experience drugs differently?
Whenever I hear of someone offering weed/acid to their Blue friend, the friend always has a negative experience and decides they hate drugs.
Oranges seem to view drugs as just a high, and smoking weed is seen as no different to smoking tobacco.  I think these may be the kinds of people that can get "addicted" to non-addictive drugs like weed.
For Greens it seems to be a tool for spiritual work and getting closer to their true self or whatever.
And for Yellows drugs are mostly a tool for gaining new insights.

So if I tell a Blue I like acid and weed they'll think I'm mischievous, dangerous, unstable, etc.
If I tell an Orange they'll either think I'm cool, or a "druggie loser".
If I tell a Green they'll think I'm woke, like them.
If I tell a Yellow they'll just think I'm Yellow.

Has anyone else noticed anything like this?

  7. Trips once a month
Should I even pursue enlightenment right now?
@28 cm unbuffed Only you can know what you need or don't need.
But whatever you decide, I recommended you keep a habit of Kriya yoga, or meditation, or self-inquiry going. Even if just 30 minutes per day. That will slowly eat away at the ego and after some years your desires will naturally turn towards enlightenment.
Psychedelic trips once a month is also a great habit.
If you can't muster the courage to approach enlightenment head on, do it sideways through baby habits.

  8. Using them for LP
How can I use psychedelics for life purpose?
I personally got a glimpse into my purpose under the influence of 3.5 grams of mushrooms a few years back when I was still in high school, back then I didn't really integrate that experience as my LP but now that I look back, I was shown.
I feel like psychedelics can be a great tool for discovering life purpose so long you are clear with your intention & are capable of asking really good questions, especially, the aspects of LP where you contemplate your emotional investments & your vision for the future. Psychedelics are mysterious so you never know what you might discover so its definitely worth it to experiment.
I also intuit that you'll be able to spot your own inauthenticity & inconsistencies while on the process of completing the course. Especially if you take mushrooms, them twisted fucks will make you are true to yourself, if that is your intent.
Keep us updated on what you decide to do!

  9. LP course
Leo, has your advice to young people changed?
@Michael569 No other way than the LP Course. That course is my life's work, struggling to figure it out for myself. It is no small thing. The course is really just the tip of an iceberg. If a person is unwilling to do the course, they are not remotely serious about this issue and will never resolve it anyways. Life purpose is not something for lazy slobs.
I invested about 10 years figuring it out until I finally did. The principles are all there. But it takes serious work to actualize it.
It's worth the work in the end. Unfortunately so few people will ever see that. Just like enlightenment. It's so amazing, but who will ever get it? Almost no one. Almost no one will realize what life can be.
There is no cure for too little vision.

  10. Enlightenment + LP
    Enlightenment vs Life Purpose
The same reason you play with Lego blocks.
    Not enlightenment vs LP.
    Enlightenment + LP.

  11. Do Nothing vs Strong Determindation Sit
Is Do Nothing Just A Shorter Version Of Strong Determination Sitting?
Strong determination sitting is sitting for a very long time without moving your body. This technique doesn't really tell you about what to focus on in your mind. Your only goal is basically to survive the sit and not move.
Do nothing is a specific focusing technique. It says nothing about how long you sit over whether you're even sitting. You could be walking.
The two can be done together at the same time. Or separately.

    DMT vape pen
Medical grade materials, durable, simple. Can vape pretty much any herbs in it. Well known brand with excellent reputation.

Not sure how good it is for crystals, But I guess you can always turn them into changa.

    There are also these:

Same principle, just glass. I've smoked once in a glass Sherlock, the vape is smoother and more cooled down than in the wooden version. But personally i liked the pricing, size and the sturdiness of the classic wooden ones. So thats what I own.

  14. How to Deal With Pain
Mind Over Matter When Dealing With Physical Pain?
Depending on ones definition of pain and suffering. However, I see pain as inevitable but suffering is optional. That is pain is simply a sensation to alarm the min d that something is wrong with the body or emotions (body-mind). Suffering is the negative story we attach to the pain, like "I can't handle this much more". Without the story about pain, pain becomes simply a curious sensation. In this regard, I find pain as either a high frequency sort of sensation and/or it starts to fade away into insignificance (as if being ignored / denied).

  15. Goggins takes a mechanistic paradigm too far
    Any thoughts about David goggins?
That is of course correct. Falling into comfort is big problem these days.
However, there is a limit to that kind of masochistic paradigm.

  16. Goggins is a meth hamster
    Any thoughts about David goggins?
    Too try-hard.
Gotta learn to chill the fuck out. Where are you running to when there's nowhere to go?
He reminds me of a hamster in a wheel on meth.

  17. I don't listen to those studies
    Leo, have you done no-fap?
I don't buy those studies. I go by how I feel. I don't need some academic to tell me what to do with my dick.

  18. Priests and Buddhism is dogma
    Leo, have you done no-fap?
That it is dogmas perpetuated for centuries, obviously.

  20. Tits
    Leo, have you done no-fap?
Yes, it makes little difference to me.
You guys here have a basic problem with being able to enjoy a thing in moderation.
It is a characteristic of the wise to be able to partake in an addictive thing with moderation without getting addicted.
If you were truly balanced, you would be able to do a shot of heroin and go about your day without attachment.
The fact that you think and struggle about porn and no-fap so much already betrays your attachment to it, if only in your mind.
If the mere sight of some porn causes you to go into a tailspin, how conscious and developed are you, really? You're fragile as an icicle.
And if me talking about enjoying some porn disturbs your mind and makes you all judgmental, you're even more fragile than that.

    See how fragile you are?

  21. Jerking off is like taking a poo
    Leo, have you done no-fap?
Jerking off is not junk food. Junk food is bad for health, jerking off is not. Jerking off is more like taking a poo or a nap.

  22. Leo on No-Fap
    Leo, have you done no-fap?
    Sexual repression games? No thanks.

  23. Leo docent like purely practical
Now that Leo's got the message, will he hang up the phone?
    Medicine??
    Def not.
    Also not entertainment.
    It's truth-seeking.
People who want to understand reality as deeply as possible.
Mentally stable people who care about probing metaphysics and epistemology.
They are not intended to be effective. They are intended to generate pure understanding -- which then could or could not be practical.
If your focus is pure practicality, my work is not for you. I have a certain disdain towards things purely practical.

  24. Interesting about sadgura life
    Average IQ of actualised.org followers?
If that is true, why did Sadhguru need 2 lifetimes of practice?

  25. IQ for Enlightenment
    Average IQ of actualised.org followers?
    You are tricking yourself.
All spiritual sayings require proper interpretation within the proper context.
He is not necessarily saying what you think he is saying.
    No, almost the opposite.
All that nonduality requires is to shut off the mind and sit in silence and concentrate for long periods of time.
Concepts and thinking are the #1 obstacle.
Sitting in silence and not thinking is not so easy if you are addicted to thinking (which everyone is).
