There you go again telling me what's factual and what's not, lol.

But you don't have all the facts - fact. You make absolute statements. It is the rhetoric you use that frames it this way.

I think I have a problem with the nature of that rhetoric to be honest - because it leaves no room for doubt. So it is most likely communication that is the issue.

I can't explain it to you, but your model of me is just wrong on so many levels, and you have no idea what I can know.

I actually don't have a fully formed model there - which is why I ask questions. And because of the above rhetoric you employ - your wording is often so absolute I routinely ask "I wonder how he came to that conclusion, and why or if such-and-such was considered".

I am asking questions to try to work out how you are coming to conclusions. Does this appear personal?

I'm basically just stating my reads and you seem to take it personally.

Which is weird because it is not me taking anything personally - as above it is me trying to work out how you arrived at something in the way you did. It just so happens that more often than not I see a lot of assumptions. Possibilities that may have been overlooked etc. So I approach from there. And most of the time it appears you have considered alternatives, and then I ask again why a certain alternative explanation may have been discarded as a reason etc (If I do not understand for any reason). I don't have any hard feelings against you.

I've re-read some of my post and thought they did sound quite arrogant. And I was like, "shit, am I like Leo?"

Well yes, this is the rhetoric you employ. And you do put down others when they do not agree with you - just in an indirect way. This is where I am actually make a personal assessment on you - but I am not taking it personally. I am calling out behaviour.

let's just keep a little distance. You can continue to make snide remarks about me, but let keep engagement to a minimum if it doesn't involve good-faith battle of ideas.

Well okay then, I don't have any bad feelings and I don't personally feel we don't get along. I actually view my probing and questions in relation to you as a positive thing (for me) because I like to understand various minds, and yours is quite unique. So I tend to shotgun fire questions out of intense curiosity as well as look at arguments.

But yeah if I want to reply I will.

Maybe you just don't like my style of questions as it may feel intrusive into how you think etc.

Sometimes I go at arguments, sometimes I am just curious how the person arrives at shit. Dunno, I just ask away.

@Natasha Tori Maru I don't see your questions and overall engagement with me as good faith. 2-3 weeks back you asked me some questions about how I got to where I did and I spent 30 minutes or so answering them in sharp detail, explaining to you how my position was built, and your response to me was to not waste my time. So I don't think you're actually curious about my positions so much as you wanting something else. Possibly for me to not sound so sure of myself. Which is a matter of style that just rubs you the wrong way. (current best hypothesis)

I assure you, it's the ideas or the consequences or implications of them I'm putting down, not the people. I don't want anyone to feel put down. I should perhaps be more sensitive and less prickly.

Ok, let's see if we can get along.

What if this is just fascination + identity + seriousness being inflated into universal importance?

I think I wasn't actually clear with that response (I vaguely recall I replied in a hurry and when I reread your comment, I felt I did not do it justice. At the time work diverted me from returning to engage). I dismissed pre-emptively so I apologise for the mixup and not returning to address. It has happened to a few other users also. I resolved to be more patient and only respond when I have sufficient time after noticing this pattern.
