You know...I really think former Christians should be careful with psychedelics...otherwise we will have a bunch of demonic Jesus running around LOL. I once had an awakening that told me I was the same as Jesus. I played around with that one, but then humbled myself with yeah its nice to know we are every human that ever lived...but you weren't nailed to a cross so let's not get carried away.

It's really amazing to me how if we are not careful....we can really fall into some delusion. Grounding is really important. It's why I don't understand this demonization of the ego. The ego is the mechanism that keeps you stable, if you aren't careful with that you could go schizo really easily.

Given how many idiots, fools, and conmen are using these powerful medicines, it’s amazing how few injuries there are.   It’s a testament that these medicines really do want to heal and do their best not to do harm even when you abuse them.  

As for the Christian programming, it goes very deep.  I was raised Christian but moved on ages ago.   But in a San Pedro ceremony, I had a terrifying 16 hour journey that took me deep into my unconscious mind and threw it all in my face, showing me it was still there.

That's a crazy story!! 

Shows once again how many pitfalls there are on the psychedelic path.  This is an extreme example but we can all fall into the traps and dangers in more subtle ways and it's good to be aware of that!

Yeah for sure, makes me want to really want to get dead serious about grounding and harm reduction.
 

Spirituality is such a fucking minefield, it’s crazy that I was doing self inquiry and lsd on a whim as a teenager. I don’t regret it at all but I want to develop clinical understanding of deception, psychology, cults before I “teach” or “facilitate” anybody.

It takes someone very mature and grounded to serve medicine and run a retreat center successfully. Don’t under estimate the importance of training/ certification either even if you’ve used psychedelics on yourself a lot. 
 

It also points out the importance of doing the deep work on yourself, clearing out self deceptions, corruption, immaturity, foolishness, addiction, impatience, selfishness, short sightedness, arrogance, etc if you are a facilitator/ retreat leader but also a spiritual teacher. 
 

I know I’m not mature enough to run a retreat center that is for sure. At least not the head organizer. Though, I thinking working for one that is well lead and being taught to facilité would be a humbling and beautiful experience.
 

Those were clearly very immature people with the best of intentions. 
 

When it comes to psychedelics I have no interest in becoming a professional facilitator, and don’t really want to facilitate at all for anyone else. It’s actually a pretty… vulnerable role? Do. You need to be trained very well. 
 

Psychedelics I’m general require a massive maturity to pursue. I don’t know anyone I think who’s handled them perfectly in their life. 
 

When I think of a good role models I think of Rak Razam and Martin Ball. 
 

Martin recently released a book full of interviews with facilitators. May be worth reading even if you don’t plan to facilitate so you know what to look for in proper use of 5meo but also in choosing a facilitatork.
