Are Scandinavian countries and Canada really more evolved than America?

28 posts in this topic

Leo and others on here have mentioned before about how Scandinavian countries and Canada are more at stage Green while America is still more at stage Orange. Also, the statistics do show that there is a larger percentage of people in Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, and Canada who are genuinely healthier and happier than the percentage of those in the USA.

Yet, America is more multiracial and has a much larger percentage of immigrants than any of the Scandinavian countries or Canada. Therefore, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, and Canada have not had the experience of having to deal with nearly as large of a population of racial minorities and immigrants as America has. This is why recent the recent surge in racism, nationalism, and xenophobia in Scandinavia has been more of a new shocking phenomenon for those much more homogeneously white countries than it has been for the US. As for Canada, while it may have a significantly larger percentage of non whites than the Scandinavians countries do, the population of Canada isn't even as large as the population of California. Therefore, it's not clear to us as to how well the Scandinavian countries and Canada would be able to tolerate having the same percentage and size of non-whites and immigrants that America has.

So, would it be fair to say that the Northern European countries and Canada aren't necessarily more evolved than the US as a society?

Some countries are more developed thanks to more favorable historical and geographic conditions.

It's like you're assuming that everyone faces the same obstacles to development. No.

The US is more developed than most places precisely because of geographic and historical factors.

And why would Canada and Scandinavia have more historical and geographic conditions for societal development than the US? Just because they are more white than the US?

The dynamite was invented in Sweden and it was crucial for America later in WW1.

America and Sweden shares research on defense technology today.

Scandinavia also has a much better education system than America. And it shows.

Who knows? There are thousands of factors.

A major factor is that the US has a large fundamentalist Christian population which holds us back.

Countries like Norway are rich from sales of oil and they have a small population to support.

Canada is a biggest scam country in the world. Our currency is even weaker than the US dollar, and it brings over immigrants to scam them and make them pay 4 times for the education (than the citizens here) with these useless degrees. The media makes it's women hate men, and men to hate women, so that we don't reproduce nor ask for higher wages (Cause a Canadian would know their rights). it would rather bring over more immigrants for even cheaper prices. But many of them come here and realize that there is no future here so they go back home in a few years. It has many races and welcomes all, to use them to help the elites, and not to help the immigrants. It also has a huge group of Christian Fundamentalists, and the culture is extremely lonely and individualistic. Most people here will never own any property unless inherited, and be wage slaves for life. Don't believe everything that you hear or what you read on google. Canada's system is broken. How are we one of the most spacious countries in the world and yet we have some of the most expensive real estate? We are supposedly a "rich" country, and yet we have so many bums on streets begging people for money or asking people to buy them food inside grocery stores. Yet I've been to India, and I almost never see homeless, even in the slums.

I am a Torontonian, lived here my entire life for 35 years. A starter home that was worth 130k in 1996, is now worth 1.3 million dollars. The income inequality, homelessness, crimes, rent prices and media has become obscene in the last few decades, and only getting worse by the year. Canada is definitely not as desirable as it once was. Real estate is in the millions of dollars just for small bungalows in most major cities. The taxes are heavy and politicians way overspend, over stretching nurses and our healthcare system. Now it may still be better than most countries in terms of quality of life. But it's going to keep declining and losing privileges it once had over many third world countries. in a few decades, it might just be another country. It is certainly not as happy and healthy as you might believe it to be. It's part of North America, and it's capitalistic, shallow and stage orange too. Overall North Americans live extremely stressful lives. So don't even compare Canada to Europe. It just sells this peaceful image to the world, to invite immigrants here and scam them. But it's not the land of milk and honey, when immigrants come over here, they then realize they will have to work several low wage jobs just to afford basic car payments, and have to share with many roommates, and that there is simply no future here. Like USA, the middle class is basically non existent or thinning like crazy, and we are in late stage capitalism. In fact, it's worse here and USA Is not far behind. Canada is only a good country if you are rich.

Well, I certainly don't know nearly as much about Canada as someone like you, but your country at least has a definitely superior healthcare system than ours and the economic equality in Canada is not as bad as it is in the USA. Also, Canada seems to have a better democracy than the U.S.

You believe the bank of Canada website? LOL That's precisely the lie. Do basic math and calculate what average homes, food cost.  It may even show inflation as 8 percent or whatever, but I think it's way higher than that. There's many cultures here. But the individuals still stick to their own cultures. It is not multicultural. Just a bunch of different cultures living in their own ghettos.

Don't believe me. Look at our politicians and what Trudeau is doing. And the disputes he's causing. He's goes over to India to pray in the sikh temples because sikhs are outward looking, to lure them to Canada. Yeah Trump is also screwed up, and Biden's leadership is weak too. North America is going down.

Most of the influence in Canada is from the toxic US, affects Canada greatly because Canada relies a lot on the US.

I just read some of this page. This precisely proves my point even more. "Income inequality is worse in the young." It's the same like USA. It's stage orange. Most major cities have become eroded and undesirable, rude, and loaded with immigrants taking over all the minimum wage jobs, homeless, income extremes, like California, New York. I agree the most expensive cities in the US are even more unaffordable for the average earner. Things are pretty bad in North America now. I can't speak for Europe. But it seems like no matter where someone wants to move, the country will always sell it as if it's better than it actually is.

Northern European nations are great... during peacetime. Should there ever be a global war and should a big nation ever decide to target them, that's where their potential weakness lies. It's easy to be a top tier nation during a time of relative global peace. A nation like China could take them out like nothing, if there wasn't a counter in place such as the military might of the United States and their NATO allies.   In the end we are still animals, subject to evolutionary drives. It's prudent to maintain some level of defense against our own nature in this regard.  Nuclear weapons are actually a big deterrent to starting any major war.

The real issue as evidenced by previous posts... why do we allow the top 5% to buy up all the world's real estate pricing the middle class out of the system? There should be a worldwide ban on this sort of speculative investing. Central bank QE (quantitative easing) has caused tens of trillions to be printed globally, most of that ends up into the hands of the top 5%, who are flush with liquidity. They drive asset bubbles by putting this excess liquidity to work investing in assets. Allowing investment firms and ETFs to buy residential real estate is just bad policy, as is allowing non citizens or foreign natives to buy real estate, or in the case of my town, the realtors themselves buy the houses and then are realtors/landlords.

You want socialism? Start with each person being allowed to own one (or maybe two or three) houses. That's it.  If you want to own more, you have to build them yourself from scratch (or have it built by a homebuilder.) That will encourage home building. Any house you build yourself, is yours until you sell it. That's good policy there. Increases supply, decreases pricing.

TheEnigma, have you ever heard of "Confirmation Bias"?

We see what we want to see!

Because you are on this forum, I am assuming you are seeking enlightenment. Focus your consciousness towards, gratitude,  goodness, compassion, and love.

When you are pointing your finger, see how there are three of your own fingers pointing back at yourself.  This is your mirror and the law of attraction that you are creating for your "Self"!

PS: I'm a Canadian that's 63 years old, lived in 8 of Canada's provinces, lived in Germany, travelled in more than 40 other countries!  "You don't know that you don't know" is phase one.

"You Know that you don't know"  is the second phase, and one of the first steps to breaking victimhood/self-pity. This second phase of "Awareness" will help you to open up your thoughts, ideas, beliefs, and emotions towards gratitude, compassion, goodness and love!

From my perspective, you and I are extremely fortunate to be living in Canada!

So be gentle with your "self" and your perception of reality.

Embrace and focus your thoughts and emotions on "Gratitude"!

@Leo Gura from my perspective every time I interact with comparing France to USA you feel like a third world country in many ways.

Just no health care.

No welfare.

No work = death

Your food is always fat, greasy.

And many of you seems having a limited intellectual mind. You have peak intelligence maybe 5% but all the rest is... Really low to put it simply.

McDonald's, KFC , burger king is an insult to life and we have to put up with that.

Everybody can write paragraphs about the shortcomings of their country, according to Google and YouTube pretty much every country in the world is collapsing. This is the toxic side of the Internet, It's size is It's biggest problem. To name a few:

You live where you choose to live, and deal with the consequences of your choice. I wouldn't live in Scandinavia personally because It lacks in population and strong cultural expression I feel when I'm in the US and Britain. specifically New York, Cali and London. But yes many Scandinavian countries have healthier policies than the rest of the world, on par with some developed US states. But I don't think any of these countries are far more or far less happier than the rest of them.

France

China

Japan

Socially Finland is the most advanced country in the world but US is the leader in new ideas and innovation.

Finland's justice system and education system are lightyear's ahead of America.
