How do the professors of these Universities live with themselves knowing these kids are going to be in debt for their entire lives for useless degrees so the professors and admin can make 6 figures

Andrew Tate only charges you $50 per month. These guys are locking you in for over 100k in debt that you can't default on.

And all the victims and perpetrators of the scam like to laugh at Tate fans. What a world

Should give Biden a nice boost in the polls and get people voting for him.

If Biden clears $10k of your debt, you better fucking vote for him.

This is one of those things that people will really feel.

@Leo Gura So, we know by now this didn't get passed. Do you think this will look bad for Biden or for the SCOTUS and Republicans? I don't have a lot of confidence that the average American can distinguish who is responsible for this not being passed.

It obviously looks bad for the right wing. Biden is lookin good. He is fighting for the people but the right wing knee-capped him.

One of the best reasons never to vote right-wing is because they select the worst possible, ideological, fundamentalist Christian judges. Such judges are happy to take away half your rights.

Biden comes away from all this lookin very reasonable and normal while the right-wing looks like lunatics.

I'm not an economist, but consider the implications of thousands and thousands of young Americans starting their lives with debt. It makes it much harder to start their own families or open up their own businesses.

Most of the federal courts, including SCOTUS, have undoubtedly become corrupt partisan right-wing partisan hacks.

So, why does this poll show that some majority of Americans actually agreed with all 3 of those SCOTUS rulings?

Frankly I think affirmative action has run its course. So that deicision is not unreasonable.

Seems like a good thing.

There have to be other ways to help the less fortunate and wealthy.

Okay, I see the point there, but why are voters so evenly divided on the ruling of the LGBTQ+ rights case?

Why do even a narrow majority of voters agree with the ruling on the student debt cancellation, despite Biden's student debt forgiveness having been quite popular?

Probably because the LGBTQ community has gone a bit too far lately. Stuff like drag shows for kids and some frivolous trans stuff makes normal people uncomfortable.

Also, this particular issue is so silly and petty. Stop carring whether someone doesn't want to make you a gay wedding cake. You can find plenty of places who will be happy to bake you the gayest cake on Earth. This is trivial stuff. It's not a serious infringment on gay rights. People need to learn to let go of minor stuff like this. You should expect a bit of prejudice to exist in society. Don't do business with people who hold opposite values from you. This is unnecessary. There is plenty of business to be had with people who share your values.

Most people did not go to college so they probably don't feel good about the idea of their tax dollars paying off some college brat's loans.

Again, frankly I don't have a problem with this ruling. You have no right to have your college loans forgiven. There is a case to be made that this is unfair.

What would happen to the economy if we made it accessible to 43 million more people? That's what this plan does. It pulls hardworking unwealthy people out of a hole and keeps their money away from loan sharks.

These Republicans cry socialism when government helps the unwealthy but they have no problem when socialism helps themselves.

I am actually with you on this personally. I just hope that this doesn't become a precedent for the courts to eventually rollback any serious LGBTQ+ rights in the future.

I understand that argument, but it was popular and most people with large student debt have been unable to pay off student from no fault of their own despite their best efforts.

So, if all of these rulings were actually reasonable, then how does all of this improve the optics for Biden and make the right-wing look even worse than before?

You also gotta keep in mind that the Supreme Court rules on narrow technical grounds. They are not ruling based o  what is best for people, they are ruling on whether a President has the authority to pass a certain executive decision. If student loan forgiveness was passed by Congress then the Supreme Court would not overrule it. It was overruled because technically only Congress should be able to pass budget-related laws. In a sense Dems and Progresses were just trying to sneak this issue through without having a proper vote on it, because they know it will never pass Congress. But sneaking stuff through is actually a corruption of our system, even if you feel it's "good" stuff. Many disagree with your definition of good. Which is why we have voting in Congress.

I don't agree with that. If you take out massive loans that is your responsibilty. Expecting a bailout is not something you should feel entitled to. If it happens, that's a nice gift, but you should not design your life around expecting gifts and then getting upset when they are not given to you. If I took out a loan I would never expect it to be forgiven. This is why I treat loans very seriously.
