Ear ringing

12 posts in this topic

Since the middle of the winter I've got ear ringing, it disturbs me at night and prevents me from falling asleep. The feeling slowly progresses, and I start feeling the slight aching in another ear. What I think it could be related to:

  • I am doing jala neti (cleansing the nasal cavity with salty water), and the water I might have used wasn't very clean
    • I've stopped the practice and I will wait for a few weeks to check if it was causing it
  • I've caught a 'cold' - exposed ear to cold during winter
  • My organism is highly intoxicated - there was a period of 2 years when I was eating a lot of junk food. Because of it, I have a lot of chronic symptoms: neural tics, restless leg syndrome/muscle cramps/stiffness(cured this), spasms, hot flashes, etc
    • I suppose to do some shankha prakshalana (yogic practice of cleansing the intestine with salty water

The complicated factor is that I don't have money now, I'm stuck in a small village in Ukraine, and my grandma sustains me. I've got some job offers in Poland but men are not allowed to leave the country (due to obvious reasons). If I would have enough money, and access to a grocery store with a bunch of celery, I would do Anthony Williams 3:6:9 cleanse (celery helped me earlier, but then I temporarily moved to my grandma where I wasn't able to access celery).

Also, my grandma bakes some cakes after which I don't feel good, and my health problems only strengthen. When I was sustaining myself I didn't have a problem with healthy eating, but now when a smelly pie lies on a table I couldn't avoid eating it.

Other ways I suppose to do to cure myself

  • continue to do yoga. Yoga offers a lot of asanas that massage the internal organs and thus push dirty blood to be filtered
  • do shankha prakshalana
  • do 36hrs water fasts every week
  • try not to concentrate to avoid junk food but to eat as much healthy food I can

What do you think could be a reason to ear ringing issue, and how to cure it? Again, I know the tools, but couldn't afford them right now, and fear that if I wait for half of the year, my health would be destroyed

It could just be related to spiritual practice. If it is on one side only, that could be a neurological issue, but if it's just basically like a background sound, that's just how reality actually is. Most people just don't notice it. Ignoring it is probably the best way to deal with it but that's just a guess -- I don't know how it is for you. If it actually feels like a single high pitched tone, that's likely an eardrum perforation but could be neurological. If it sounds like white noise then, while it could be neurological tinnitus, it could just be the sound of silence (the nada sound), which just seems to come with the territory of spiritual practice and psychedelic use, in my experience.

My ear has rang for 3 years or something now. Get used to it. It's not likely to go anywhere. If you cure it, give us all a call.

I've learned to accept it. It doesn't affect my sleep, and I forget about it while listening to music. For whatever reason, even though our body can go from single celled, to complex human without a single ring.. the body can't correct itself despite consciously recognizing its annoying. God? Is that your infinite creative ability? Thanks.

Learn to love the unlovable.

1. Ear ringing

2. Not likely to be the musican of my dreams

3. Balding

4. Recovering from trauma

Thats me. Thanks God.

In my case, it doesn't feel like I've become conscious of the all-penetrating AUM or sth. It is persistent, it affects only one ear, sometimes I experience mild pain, feel like there is some 'water' in there.

Generally, I have a lot of chronic illness symptoms and in the background of these symptoms ear ringing doesn't seem to be a sign of spiritual growth

I would visit a doctor at the soonest time.

It's called tinnitus. Fairly common on this forum. Meditation, spiritual work, and psychedelics can certainly cause it.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

I've had it all my life.  One possible explanation is it's the sound of blood flowing through the head.  Stand on your head and you'll notice.

If you stop paying attention to it you'll never hear it.

Although I have it 24/7, I only realize it's there like a few times a year.

Hmmmm??? Probably just ear wax buildup???

I have this problem, where one part of the ear gets muffled every couple of years.
It does feel like there's water in the ear and a bit of ringing.

Firstly, use eardrops like Soluwax.
If that doesn't work.
See a ear specialist, where she'll suck the wax out of the ear.
It cost USD$100 where I'm from in a private clinic.
I do this procedure every couple of years.

Your problem might be this simple, it might be not.
Just sharing my experience.

I experience most of these + the tinnitus and skin aches.

Top solution for me are:

Sport. Especially cardio-vascular training and high heart rate training resolve the symptoms

Clean food. Mostly processed and high-carb food trigger all this nasty stuff. Stick to high-fiber, nutrient-dense plant food.

Connecting with people I appreaciate. - This one is highly underestimated. Social connection is so crucial for a well functioning body and mind. Even for more introverted people like me. There is this rule of thumb, that loneliness causes as much damage to your system as a constant smoking habit.

Fresh air and sunlight. Hiking, walks in nature and sleeping with an open window all have a big impact of the symptoms you listed above.

I thought about that as well.

@EugeneTheSage I think you might be overthinking this. Do you get exposed to loud sounds?

one day this will all be memories

I wouldn't bet on it, but Omega 3 and/or Vitamin B12 could help. Since there is no downside to making sure you have enough of these, I would recommend it.

B12 is essential for signal transmission of all nerve cells.

Omega 3 fatty acids tendentially reduce inflammatory processes.
