It's real! It's really real!

Turns out with attention to the breath it's like a ratio.

The more one focuses on the breath and deepens the satisfaction in each "flavor" of the feeling of it, the quieter thoughts become.

And the opposite, the more one focuses on thoughts, the more shallow and "desperate" the breath feels.

Feels like after years of pumping the well, waters finally come out ?.

Thoughts are like hungry animal I you feed them they get bigger, if you don't they die.

@Carl-Richard I wasn't counting ?.

Rough estimate: seconds, minutes, hours, days?

@Carl-Richard

Rough estimate, maybe a minute-a few seconds honestly.

I wouldn't want to get wrapped up in quantifying the moments of silence. As that encourages more thought identification. "Look how cool I am, I can stop thinking for 5 minutes!"

Sounds good. In my experience, as the gradually mind quiets down, thoughts not only becomes less frequent but more brief, subtle and non-linear. It goes from syrup to air. There are various degrees to it and can be mistaken for a thought-free state when contrasted with a previous state. Once the mind alters its trajectory to align itself perfectly with complete silence, there is an instantaneous, undeniable shift in consciousness, as if the brain is lifted outside of the skull, and I enter a state of purgatory between terror and bliss. I've yet to fully let go into that bliss.

God can only communicate with you in complete silence, so you did good.

Even if that is not true, my active monkey mind is the bane of my existence.

Nice!

It is entirely already directly seen that movement is completely still. Since that is always the case, it isn’t noticed. Like a fish forgetting what water is.

That's nice, hope the well is dug deep and the water is clear. ?

I'm curious where you draw the line between thought and not thought. Are these verbal thoughts?

??
