It will not change anything.

Meditation can change many things. Why are you saying that? It even changes the brain.

What are the alternatives that will promote change then?

On that level, nothing. Nothing ever changes which is everything constantly changing. As for getting into wonderfully blissful states, there is basically no substitute for meditation, sure. In fact it seems in this forum there is widespread underestimation of meditation, to the point where there are people using recreational drugs for pleasure, completely unaware that skillful meditation states blow all recreational drugs out of the water as far as pleasure goes. It's not right or wrong, just uninformed.

Observing the breath. But right now i am basically doing nothing in particular. It's more like a being/happening rathert than something i am doing. Thats why i enjoy it now so much. In the beginning it was much a doing and not that fun.

Yes i agree with you on that. People are quick to throw out the baby with the bathwater.  Meditation really works but it takes time. I've watched a documentary on Netflix where it basically showed that master meditators get the most benefit out of meditation. It just takes few years to get out of that noobie stage.

To me i don't care if i get enlightned while meditating. I just enjoy the peace of mind it brings. One meditator was like 42 and he had the brain of a 33 year old man. That's impressive. And the level of compassion he could generate was astronomically high.

Those who are really wise will stick to a meditative practice. And then the psychedelics will be the cherry on top. Psychedelics are a temporary tool. You need a daily tool also if you really want to change your state. It was nice when Leo was promoting meditation more 4 years ago.

@Max8 Try Yoga, highly underrated on this masculine dominated forum ha. And the headless techniques by Douglas harding may help you too. Adyashanti's techniques if your monkey mind won't shut up.

During yoga, brain also releases dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin and endorphins.

Yoga essential means union of the duality and is a way of life.

Stretching with dedicated breathing is a sort of meditation itself and will make you feel good.

Form is emptiness, emptiness is form.

It's all about conditioning... seems like there are a lot of held beliefs... so meditation is not that eye-opening here. I'd combine it with LSD, shrooms, 5-MeO to see that the sky is the limit here, and then would see the same soberly via meditation practice. Good luck.

@SQAAD

Meditation is more for letting go of expectations, vs putting expectations on meditation. It ‘works’ by not working, like you change by never changing.

I disagree with you. Through certain kinds of meditation you train certain abilities like attention, peripheral awareness and the capacity of consciousness to hold multiple objects.

Meditation changed my life for the better. Yall crayyy

It's helped me to settle and transcend my recent fears and ego backlashes... 20 minutes in morning 20 minutes at night for me right now.

I feel very relaxed.

I use the techniques taught in the headspace app which I highly recommend.
