It's not simulations all the way down, it's consciousness all the way down. Consciousness is unbounded, and consciousness is aware of itself. The simulation hypothesis is a kind of recursion (like Matryoshka dolls). But recursion is already built into consciousness itself, not need to invoke anything extra like powerful computers etc.

With recursion you get lots of things for free. You get copying (forms and concepts), imperfect copying (a.k.a. evolution), infinity (unbounded repeated recursion), fractals (copying within copying) and so on. So here we are in a structured, evolving, infinite, fractal reality.

If you want to think of it as a simulation, there is nothing wrong about it. In a way it is. But, not in the form of machines simulating this with algorithms.

Even if it were to be simulated through machines. Those entities who are simulating it should still be conscious cognizant creatures, right?  So, since cognizant consciousness still being the primal reality which even gives existence to those alien overlords who are simulating us, would still have to be explained right?

Not only some simulating aliens. Even if the reality is thought to be created by some GOD. Still that GOD has to be conscious & cognizant first, before he/she/it can create anything.

In all cases, which ever way you think about it, consciousness is the thread that runs through all of these various scenarios. That's why Without Consciousness Nothing Is. With Consciousness, Everything Is.

Good on you for being sceptical towards non-dual theory, yet also being sceptical enough to consider it. Leave no stone unturned.

I had a strong sense reality is like Sims, then like the matrix, then like mirror reflection of my heart, as hallucination. Its pretty real, whatever is the case.

It probably is whatever we deeply hold it as when we go a bit closer to the "beyond" or "other side ".

Maybe some of us are Sim, others not. Maybe we have different purpose and meaning on this collective dimension.

Some want to transcend humanity, others deeply want to learn to be human. Hehe

Hi unfortunately in your answer you disregard the possibility for a Motherboard to exist wi th out anyone creating it. In absolute infinity such a thing can exist and it can be beyond consciousness and knowing, no one would know about it, maybe only intuit.

A simulation would be simulating something or no thing, which is not a simulation, but real, or actual in comparison with a simulation. The word real-ity already points to itself as real. The contextualizations & recontextualizations held in the illusory finite mind upon what is real (like ‘simulation’), appear to leave question of what is real.

And what is the Motherboard made out of?

So no simulation needed? What you're then proposing is that only a part of reality is simulated.

Well yeah, if consciousness is the initial simulation,  sim1,  then that which created it is beyond the simulation. Like saying that beyond the white we see, there could be black creating it, or allowing for it.

Or it might be another aspect of God, or creation of God, which is still in the realm of knowing, but only God, not mere humans like me and you.

Maybe its one of God's wives or something heheh
