My insomnia won't ever go away its sad

@Villager Albert Thank you Villager.

Yeah it's weird honey does help a bit.

That's confusing that cold showers help ... I normally have a hot shower before bed - do you think that's counterproductive?

It's confusing because I thought cold showers increased adrenaline & cortisol - so were appropriate for mornings - It always wakes me up in the morning.

If you have insomnia quitting caffeine is a no-brainer. I'm surprised no one mentioned this. Like cut caffeine to 0 for months and see if it improves.

It won't cost you anything to try this.

I would refrain from diagnosing yourself with super rare specific diseases till you do that. Check out reddit r/decaf

My insomnia seems to be not stopping.

But i haven't tried hard enough yet, although im getting angrier & more twitchy, its hard to focus on anything other than being angry at life.

Fortunately I have worked hard enough to have some savings

I am literally pouring all my savings in to trying to cure my health, goodbye other dreams & interests cos they don't mean shit till this is solved.

Time to buy a ton of supplements, andy cutlers book, filling removals, detoxes time to everything

If nothing works & I know I've done my best, I'll kill myself as a way to get back at God for punishing me. Hopefully the practices will work ill give myself 1-2 years before I consider death

Have you tried the melatonin? Up to 10 mg dosage?

How much sleep do you get per night?

Also, have you consulted a physician?

Please don't say something really obvious like "exercise man" or "eat good food" that hasn't made a difference. I have insomnia way too often and I've had it since I was 14, but has been a lot worse in the 15 months also has gotten worse since I was beaten up.

I don't know if I have a brain trauma or something cos I can't control it.

I struggle to sleep but also wake up really early randomly and in middle of the night too.

I know this might sound "goofy" but honestly this ruins my life. I'd rather be fat than have insomnia even just once a week. Its destroying my potential. I want to succeed and enjoy life but Its very hard to do it when I'm tired and slow all day .

Yeah I'm the same way. Takes 2 to 4 hours to fall asleep, which is extremely hard to do. If I wake up for any reason, like having to pee or a noise wakes me up, I can't fall back asleep for hours again. So I generally can't fall asleep till 3:00 am to 6:00am. And am asleep for only 5 or 6 hours. Also my environment has to be perfect to be able to sleep at all. If there are other people in the room or nearby, if it's not perfectly calm and quite, forget about sleeping for that night. Yes it ruins your life, as it makes having a "normal" life extremely hard to have. I'm 45 now and this has been one of the most detrimental aspects of my life. All I could do is get rid of any and all commitments, so my erratic sleep is not as much an issue. Hope you find a way to solve yours.

Have you tried medication, ever?

I literally can't sleep without it (prescription or sometimes melatonin). A few times I didn't have my medication (once went camping and once went to a hotel by a casino for a night) and I was up all night. Didn't sleep a wink.

I was so miserable that in the morning I just went home, instead of what had been planned.

Yes, of course. Tried them all. They all work against me, in different way. Some give me the feeling of dying, as I'm falling asleep, so it causes me to fight against it. Others cause my body to have to pee every couple hours, which means it takes me hours to get asleep again. So in essence, taking medications means I get less sleep than I would if I didn't take any.

But that is just me, I do not want to discourage anyone else, especially the OP, from taking them.

So, tbh, none of the prescription sleep meds worked for me either. I'm a difficult case as well.

So, we resorted to sedatives (benzos). Just one a night and this works, but takes 1-2 hours to take effect.. However, at times melatonin actually works too if I'm already a bit tired.

What is it called? I had good luck with Ambien 15 years ago, but can't get any doctor to prescribe any cause it's a benzo and people have become addicted, so no one can have any.

 Ambien is not a benzo, but it is a sedative type prescription medication for insomnia. I think they can cause dependence for some and therefore might be hard to get. Although, I wasn't given a hard time about it. It didn't work anyways.

I take Ativan 0.5mg one per night now for my insomnia, except I switch it up with melatonin sometimes. My doctor didn't go to the Ativan right away. I had to try every other medication there was for sleep first...its been years now since then so I don't remember how many I tried.

@Arcangelo

I'll consider weed and CBD ... i'll look into ordering it.

But in my country to buy in person you have to get dodgy weed which often times makes  me feel insane and fucks me up for days.

All of these comments about being 45 and still having these issues are depressing as fuck. If my problems don't start to improve by 25 i'll kill myself.

I don't want to live a shitty life, I want the perfect life. Either these problems get solved or im gone

And I just actually hope that it's HEAVY METAL toxicity because then there's a clear cause.

And I agree with you@Sempiternity My dad snores like a fucking elephant and it drives me absolutely crazy. I'm especially sensitive to sound and light, but even the average Joe wouldn't want to hear him snore.

I'll be moving back out soon - hopefullly that will give me more space to try and solve my issues.

No matter how bad the problem is in life - I have no fear, no pain towards it. But when it comes to unsolvable problems, that drives me insane. Again I don't want to be defeatist I will promise this forum that I will try to solve my problems because I have so much to offer the planet, but if they can't be solved, I'm gonna disappear and enjoy my death

Try meditation, corpse position, when you cant sleep.  Also throw some yoga nidra in there, there's some great guided yoga nidra vids on YouTube. Don't try to go back to sleep, but allow yourself if the desire arises. Don't do anything else between the 8hr sleep window besides sleeping, meditating, and yoga nidra.

This is going to be controversial, but just try it. Eat nothing but beef for a week and see if that changes anything.

This is coming from someone with 10 years experience with severe debilitating insomnia, now completely cured with no chance of relapse.

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

@Striving for more  I hope you get well soon man.

I gave those 2 examples because those are the 2 weed strains that knocked me out the most, but any strong INDICA will do.

Weed might save your life.

No caffeine, no chocolates.

Exercise for a couple of hours, take a shower, make your self a chamomile tea and smoke 1/2 a gram of girl scout cookies and tell me you didn't sleep.

That will be my recipe.

***Disclaimer***: Weed is addictive

Keep striving for more.

Don't get me wrong, I have had an extraordinary life. One you wouldn't believe if i told you. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Yes sleep issues are a hassle, but the joys of life outweigh that. Keep going, keep trying, you'll find what works for you. And as you start to really get into the joys of adult life, this will just fade into just another aspect of life you have to deal with, like everything else.

P.S. my life didn't really get going till I was 28. So you'd be missing out on sooooo much to end it at 25. At that age, you're just getting started.

P.P.S My thumbnail is me from a few years ago. After 40. So life can lead you to wonderful unexpected places. Give it some time to find your path.

@Arcangelo

It's very hard to find high quality weed in my city, and it's mostly sativa.

Do you order this online with dark web ?

@Striving for more If you can't get weed, maybe try oleamide. You can buy it on amazon. Apparently it's one of the main compounds associated with cannabis's hypnotic effects. It seems to work very well for insomnia, according to reddit.
