@Leo Gura I've thought about it some more and now I genuinely think you're wrong in saying that Vaush thinks most conservatives are fascists. Not quite sure where you got that from.

What are you smoking? He said it a bunch of times in his Krystal and Sagaar video. He calls Sagaar and Tucker Carlson a white nationalist fascist and he even basically calls Krystal Ball that. He's way out of line there.

Sagaar is not a fascist or a white nationalist. And as much as I hate Tucker, he's not a fascist either.

Just because someone isn't a raving progressive does not make them a fascist or a fascist sympathizer.

Vaush is an intelligent guy but he's too blinded by his progressivism. I know his heart in the right place but he lacks important nuance and understanding of conservatives.

Sagaar is a decent and reasonable conservative.

The problem with demonizing someone like Sagaar is that if you can't make peace with Sagaar's brand of conservatism, you basically can't negotiate or respect any conservative at all. As progressives it's very important that we accommodate reasonable conservatives, otherwise they will become radicalized.

Politics requires compromise. You can't exclude and demonize 40%-50% of the population. That's going to backfire on you. You cannot expect every conservative in the country to convert to liberalism. It ain't ever gonna happen. Conservatives need to have a say in the direction of the country because that's how democracy works. Compromising with someone like Sagaar on immigration is actually a good deal. It will pacify conservative fears and lessen their radicalization. Sagaar's immigration stance is not a racist one. Unchecked immigration should not be the progressive position. It will turn off 50% of the country.

Vaush is far too uncharitable to Sagaar.

I still like Vaush overall. But yeah, this is my issue with not just him but his ilk in a nutshell.

They'll often dismiss types like Stephen Colbert, John Oliver, or even David Pakman as neo-liberals as if they're brand of progressivism gets nothing accomplished or actively enforces the status quo.

Democracy is only good for swiss people.

Let's try Epistocracy
like in Jason Brennan's book "Against Democracy":

Seems like a different form of epistocracy to me:

Sorry for the source but it's mostly bipartisan here

A good example of how an otherwise smart and reasonable guy makes himself a tool of the alt-right by not understanding the Spiral.

@Leo Gura I also saw Brett explain his idea for a new system of governance involving 1 center left individual and 1 center right individual who have the 3 characteristics he mentioned on the JRE podcast. I’m curious what you or anyone else thinks of this idea...

I have a theory about vaush what do you all think?

He called himself anarchist, communist, socialist, anarcho syndicalist, libertarian socialist, anarcho communist and maybe more.

I felt he did that to stand out from other streamers and not be in destiny's shadow forever. And that he didnt rly believe it because he would back off pretty fast from arguing it when someone pressed him on it.

Then he said jokingly that he lies to us all the time and that he dosent care about politics he does it all for the money.

I believe that when people joke like that they are trying to say something that is true and is bothering them but they cant say it seriously.

Not enough labels. Statistically speaking, we need at least 137.62 labels more!

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

@Parththakkar12 Would u still be mad if i phrased that differently?

Lol I'm not mad. I find it interesting that someone would want to identify as so many things. My personal practice my whole life has been dis-identification.

I think many people think he is an opportunist. He is basically an upgrade to destiny. He learned his style from him. He got to his status with the help of destiny and hasan piker from tyt.

Vaush became popular with him being edgy. His worker coop thing is not convincing at all. I didn't see any known leftist that defends this thing but it gives Vaush rhetorical power to make him look like a moral authority.

Like destiny he doesn't like to talk with leftists in his show. I guess it's boring and he get's called out and cancelled all the time by them that is not fun. Fascists on the other hand are fun in the sense of a good versus evil story. Captain america (destiny) and Comrade america (Vaush) are fighting against the evil fascists (nazbols).

I guess even fascists love that show because they get some platform for their ideology.

I didn't  see this one but I will I guess. They did this on individual talks many times already.

So when you have an ideology that is basically doing or thinking dumb things on a greater scale you are doing or thinking very unhealthy. Can't this be described as delusional or mental illness?

Are you saying all dumb people are mentally ill? Why not just call them dumb?

Vaush seems pretty authentic to me.

Really? He  gives the sarcastic vibe people say. Could be his deep manly voice and sometimes his "toxic masculinity" when talks about his  "massiv" dingdong. Which he scaled down a lot it seems. In his latest vid he comes off as almost conservative. He is talking about manners, trackrecord. Very judgemental for an anarchist.

Something comes to my mind about his central arguments (not related to this video). What happens to people who don't want to work in his worker coop transition system (that later becomes communism)

Because it sounds sometimes like it is not ment seriously. A way of lazy thinking. The question would be then: What does dumb mean? Is he really dumb? Why is he dumb?

@Epikur I think the problem you're getting at is more about who is saying it than what they're actually saying. If some ignorant villager are calling you dumb, you'll not value that the same way as a professor calling you dumb. You clearly know what they both mean, but you also know who you're going to take seriously.

Sometimes yes but sometimes it's not clear. A prof has an ego too. So he is invested in his theory so it happens he calls people dumb to make himself feel good.

A dumb person is sometimes not invested in a topic and in his intelligence and can accept his ignorance.
